Grand Opening of Universal Studios Transformers The Ride 3D VIDEO

I know this post isn’t going to be for everyone BUT if you are a Transformers fan or know a Transformers fan (my 6 year old is a huge one!), then this is a can’t miss video. Actually if you are a fan of Universal Orlando or cool amusement rides or Steven Spielberg or Frank Welker,  you’ll like this video too!

I had the opportunity to go to Universal Studios Orlando this week to be on the red carpet of the Grand Opening of the Transformers The Ride 3D and it was amazing! Full disclosure – I’m not the biggest Transformers fan myself. But you know what? I am a fan of Universal Studios, amazing rides and taking interest in things that my kids like. My son likes Transformers therefore I like Transformers. :) Yep, that’s the kind of mom I am. So when I had the chance to get to see Megatron, Bumblebee, Optimus Prime and the voices behind them, I jumped at the chance. It was just too fun of an opportunity to pass up.

Plus, I’m not mad at the fact that I got to get up close and personal with Steven Spielberg. Yep, THE Steven Spielberg! The genius himself! I think I’m really close to being invited on his personal yacht. I’m sure of it. The next time we meet, the invite is mine! :)

Okay, back to Transformers. The red carpet experience was amazing. There were huge Transformers (20-30 feet tall, I would guess) charging down the carpet. I was rubbing elbows with creative geniuses like Peter Cullen (voice of Optimus Prime), Frank Welker (voice of Megatron), Mark Woodbury (President of Universal Creative) and Steven Spielberg (he needs no introduction!). Yeah, that pretty much makes me the coolest mom to my 6 year old right now!

I had to opportunity to ride Transformers The Ride 3D multiple times, and let me tell you, each time was just a little more amazing than the one before. The 3D technology was out of this world.

Now, this isn’t a ride for the littles (you have to be 48″ to ride) and it isn’t for the week stomachs, but if you can handle a roller coaster then you can easily handle Transformers. You ride in a special Transformer car with 12 others and are transformed into the battle of your life.  It is the kind of advanced 3D technology that we have come to expect from Universal Studios! Ahhhh-mazing!

Transformers The Ride 3D is now open and it is a must-ride for the bigger kids and adults when you visit Universal Studios Orlando.

Seriously, you were that close to Steven Spielberg? I would have fainted. He is a genius! I would love to have been in your shoes today.

Did you get to ride in the Bumblebee car? I’m guessing not but that would have been so cool. Optimus Prime looked pretty cool too. Thanks for doing this video.

  5. Caitlyn says

OMG! Seriously best video ever. My little brother has watched this video 2 times already because he is in love with the transformers. We are so excited to see this because we are going next week!

This dad is sold. I plan to take my son on this ride during our next visit. We live in Orlando so we frequent the park but it was nice to see this grand opening that the general public doesn’t usually get to see so close. Thanks so much as I know it was really hot today.

That is a great photo of the cars. Plus, what a cool chance to get a photo op with Steven spielberg. Do you think the ride is too scary for a 6 year old?
