Sh*t Mom Bloggers Say (VIDEO)

laugh at yourself

Mom Bloggers.

The past decade has brought the world a flood of moms who make us laugh, cry and sometimes shout and shake our fists at people we cannot see, all while sitting in their pajamas in the comfort of their own home. Instead of ladies who lunched in the 50s, 60s and 70s, the new Millennium brought us “Ladies Who Blog.” And one of the biggest categories of this new type of “journalism” is mom bloggers. Honestly, if you have kids and you blog, YOU are a “Mom Blogger.” Yes, another title you have earned just by birthing a baby or two and writing on the internet.

Mom Bloggers (as all bloggers do!) spend a great deal of blood, sweat and tears pouring their soul into their blogs, as well as their humor, personality, and their opinions. That is at least what you see on the outside! But like most things, there is a whole crazy world behind these ladies that blog that sometimes just needs to be laughed at. I’ve been behind the scenes of this cray-cray world for almost a decade, and oh, the stories I could tell.  Some would make you laugh. Some cry. Some cringe.

Yes, I too, have gained the infamous title “Mom Blogger” and some days I’m not sure if this is the crazy sorority that I wanted to join. Some days are a blast and I’ve made the best of friends, but there are other days that this girl-eat-girl, sorority-gone-bad industry gets to be too much!

The only thing I can do at times like those is laugh at it. And laugh at myself. And laugh at them. Because like the quote up above says “Life is too short to be serious all the time. So, if you can’t laugh at yourself, call me…I’ll laugh at you.” (unknown)  Today, 12 of my friends and I are doing just that! Why? Because we can. And we like to laugh. And it’s funny!

Will some people who have no sense of humor or take themselves too seriously think this is not funny? Sure. We don’t care.

Because we like to laugh.

I loved getting a chance to see Rita in this!

When I was a Mom Blogger, it was 13 years ago (not that I am no longer a Mom, just that I have passed over the bragging/complaining on the kids stage to the much more obnoxious gushing over the grandkids stage – Oh God, I am a Grandmother Blogger, time to grab the Metamucil, Lifelock pendent, and a frigging rocking chair, ugh)! Back in the dinosaur age of the internet that it was, I had no comrades (or haters, depending) to share my experiences with in the adventures of blogging. In fact, my college seminar paper was 50 pages on the emergence of the Stay-at-Home-Mom Blogger, no one knew who or what she was. Okay, now I am sounding old…..
