How to Make a Produce Robot

Sharing is caring!

Today we are making a produce robot! We’ve talked about my New Year’s Resolution to eat more healthy and lose some weight. Yes, it’s the end of March and I’m still talking about it because I’m still going strong. Three months might not be anything to some people but for me to cut out the baked goods and ice cream is HUGE!! It’s definitely a struggle so I’m going to celebrate the mini-milestones like sticking with it for 3 months so far.

My quest isn’t just for me to eat more healthy but for the entire family to do so as well. So, I’ve been trying to think of fun ways to get more fruits, vegetables and whole grains in the kids while quietly cutting back on the junk food. While my daughter is amazing with veggies, my boys haven’t met too many vegetables that they really like, but if I make it fun, they will eat just about anything. Or at least try anything!

For example, my 8-year-old son hates hot carrots. Funny thing is that I LOVE hot carrots and I serve them for dinner a lot! Mean mom, right?!? I’m not actually that mean because I usually save some of the raw carrots and let him eat those instead because according to him, “If I can dip it, I can eat it. Come on, these veggies need some flavor.” So, he will happily gobble the carrots up with no complaining as long as I give him a little veggie dip on the side. Yep, all it takes is a little Marzetti® Ranch Veggie Dip!

So, when the the Marzetti® brand came to me about their new campaign supporting amazing organizations like March of Dimes, it was a no-brainer. We already love their products. How can you not when they are the reason my son eats veggies?! Not just carrots but broccoli, celery and even cucumbers. It makes sense because Marzetti’s tag line is, “It’s all about the good stuff.” They love produce, which is why they make products that enhance their fresh, natural goodness.

Don’t be surprised if you decide to make the produce robot yourself because your kids will love it. That’s exactly what we did! My 5-year-old and I had a robot making afternoon and had a blast! It was a great project that we could do together!

Here’s what we used to make the produce robot:

Vegetables

We cut everything to the shapes that they showed in the Marzetti video and then we got to town assembling the produce robot parts.

Once we were done, it was time to eat!

It was a super fun afternoon building our new friend “Robby the Robot!” While our produce robot isn’t exactly the same as in the video, we think ours is pretty special anyway! Don’t forget to watch the robot building tutorial video to help you make your own robot and like and/or share it so that Marzetti donates even more money to March of Dimes. Plus, if you make your own robot, we’d love to see photos!
