OVERVIEW Although many moms opt out of a baby bathtub -- choosing instead to bathe with baby or even use the kitchen sink -- using an infant bathtub makes washing a slippery babe a safer, less worrisome and therefore more fun experience for many mamas. Most baby bathtubs are contoured for little behinds, some even have comfort and no-slip pads, foot rests and detachable shower heads. Typically, one end is elevated so the water is around baby's bottom and not her head. Most infant baths are designed for use on the counter (with supervision, of course!), but others can fit in the kitchen or other big sink, or in your regular bathtub. Their bulky size is an issue for many space-conscious moms, but there are portable, foldable and even inflatable tubs available. While the design of bathtubs varies slightly, the jist is the same: it's a big plastic tub that holds water (hopefully without leaking!). FEATURES TO CONSIDER
