Seattle with Kids TRAVEL GUIDE

Sharing is caring!

I’ve lived in the Pacific Northwest for my entire life and this land , my friends, is absolutely beautiful! If you haven’t ventured to the Northwest yet, add it to your bucket list. It’s brimming with natural beauty, fun adventures and many, many family-friendly activities.

Seattle is one of the most of popular cities and a perfect destination for a family vacation. Whether you have one day or ten, do your best to experience each of these highlights!

penguins at the zoo

Woodland Park Zoo

Over the years I’ve visited quite a few zoos and Woodland is one of my all-time favorites. In addition to the regular exhibits, plan to experience fun extras like feeding penguins and a behind the scenes tour.

seattle aquarium

Seattle Aquarium

In our recent homeschool adventures we checked out the aquarium and fell in love with the sea creatures of the Northwest. The outdoor seal exhibit overlooks the Sound and a little crab nicknamed Marshawn Pinch has inhabited a Seahawks shell!

Ready for a meal? Look no further than the amazing Lunchbox Laboratory! See the full menu here.

space needle

Space Needle

There is no greater Seattle landmark than the Space Needle. It isn’t a cheap adventure, but it is a memorable one for sure.

pacific science center

Pacific Science Center

Ages 1-100 will find educational fun at the Pacific Science Center. With a number of fabulous exhibits – we’ve always loved the dinosaurs best! – you’re sure to enjoy a day of learning with the whole family. Be sure to take in an IMAX if you can!

museum of flight

Museum of Flight

Whether you have a little aviator or are just interested in the wonders of flight – Seattle’s Museum of Flight is a must see!

great wheel in seattle

The Great Wheel

I don’t do heights, so I haven’t fully experienced the Great Wheel – but I’ve heard wonderful things! It’s within walking distance of the Aquarium so tie those two stops together.

emp museum

EMP Museum

The Experience Music Project Museum will do just that: allow you to experience music to the fullest – all its history, passion and mechanics. You’ll walk away a richer person from this museum!

seattle children's museum

Seattle Children’s Museum

My little ones love nothing more than a good children’s museum and Seattle’s is one of the best we’ve visited. It embraces so much of the Northwest and has fabulous themed play areas … best of all are the play cafe and the theater.

seattle underground tour

Seattle Underground Tour

This is definitely my favorite way to learn about the ins, outs and crazy history of Seattle. Parts of it are definitely more adult friendly, but guides are trained to tailor their topics for little ears.

public market center

Pike Place Market

It isn’t a visit to Seattle without a family photo in front of Pike Place Market. The gyros are divine and you’re only a block from the original Starbucks. Don’t miss this Seattle wonder!

Northwest readers and those who have visited the lovely Pacific Northwest … What would you add? Favorite stops or restaurants? What are you hoping to visit again?
