Seven Potty Training Tips that Work

Sharing is caring!

Potty training is one of those rites of passage that every parent must go through. It’s easy for some (or so they will tell you!) but for many, it is an ongoing struggle that can last anywhere from a month to two years if you are talking about complete potty training, nighttime and all!

I was part of the latter group. You know, 95% of parents. Potty training three kids wasn’t easy and I always joked with my friends that I was not all that great at it. I could set up a stroller and give you a full tutorial on how it works in less than five minutes, but give me a toddler and a potty, and I’m looking for the nearest daycare to help!

Whether I was good at potty training or not, we made it through. We’ll all make it through. Your kid will not go to college in a diaper, I promise. No matter how many times that annoying neighbor down the street or that know-it-all at playgroup tells you they were able to potty train little Johnny in one afternoon, believe me when I say, they are lying. No child potty trains completely with no accidents in an afternoon. Or a weekend.

There are always accidents.

She is just not telling you about the time that little Johnny peed on the Small World Ride at Disney World because he gave her 10 second notice as they were going through Holland with the little Dutch children dancing in wooden shoes as Johnny’s pee was filling his shoes.

It’s hard work.

BUT there are some tips that can make it a little easier and that is what I’m sharing today in our Baby Gizmo video.

Seriously, these tips work! They aren’t miracle workers that will potty train your child in 10 minutes or less but they will help.
