Now, that you and Veronika are friends – let her tell you about A Great Gift Idea for a Mother-to-Be!

The world of shoes can easily be summed up into two groups – Crocs lovers and Crocs haters.  I myself used to fall into the latter group.  Mention the word Crocs to me and I immediately thought of those ugly, clunky clogs.  Being the fashionista I thought I was, I would NEVER have been caught dead in a pair!  Give me a pair of cute stilettos any day of the week but never a pair of clogs.

When thinking about starting a family, I’ll admit that I was naïve.  I had always imagined myself pregnant, complete with a cute baby bump, prancing around in my designer heels.  Once reality set in and I was 30 pounds heavier, waddling around with a permanent backwards lean from the added weight, I naturally changed my tune.  My entire concept of fashion has now been altered into 2 groups – comfortable and not comfortable.

A very thoughtful friend of mine gifted me a pair of shoes she claimed would change my pregnant life.  You guessed it – Crocs.  I was taken off guard.  These weren’t clogs at all.  They were actually kind of cute!  Once I slipped them onto my aching, swollen feet (I couldn’t believe they actually fit), and tried them out for awhile, I was hooked.  I am referring to the women’s Melbourne style.  Gone are the days where Crocs are the all-rubber clogs I used to dread.  Crocs has finally started to branch out, making a line of somewhat-fashionable shoes that I am actually not ashamed to wear out in public.

I checked out Crocs on their website and was surprised at how many different styles they actually have available.  The Melbourne’s are a canvas shoe that has the amazing Croslite insole.  Seriously – these shoes are like pillows for your feet!  I can be on my feet all day long without having to worry about back pain or aching knees.

I realize that there have been some heated debates over whether or not Crocs are kid-appropriate.  In my opinion, any shoe a child can potentially slide their little feet out of is probably not a good idea.  No one wants to see their kiddo with a bloody nose because they took a running nose-dive into the concrete at the playground, all thanks to a shoe that wouldn’t stay put.  In fact, several daycares and schools in my area are now starting to prohibit children from wearing Crocs clogs at all.  However, we grown-ups have a much broader range of shoe choices available from Crocs, so it might be worth looking into.

The best part is that Crocs are having a huge blowout sale going on right now.  Being that these are now my go-to shoe, I am more than happy to pay the $49.99 price tag for the Melbourne’s, but getting them at a steal is so much better!  The crocs website currently has them marked down 50% to $24.99.  Adding the coupon code CROCSSURVEY takes 20% off of your entire order, and you can even snag free shipping by stacking on the code “secondchance” (in lowercase letters).  The Melbourne’s do run really small so make sure to order a full size up.  I normally wear an 8 ½ or a 9 but I needed a 10 in these.

I was able to pick up 2 pairs in my favorite style for $39.98 shipped!  Holy Cow!  What a deal!  They are a fantastic gift and would make any pregnant mom-to-be or new mother (or anyone for that matter) a happy camper on Christmas morning.  Be sure to check out their sale section with all of the different women’s and men’s styles that have been drastically marked down.  Believe me – your feet will thank you.
