Attention American Girl fans! The yearly big announcement from American Girl was made today on who the 2016 Girl of the Year is and we’d like you to meet Lea Clark! Each year, my daughter is super excited to find out about the GOTY to discover what she looks like and what her story is. This year’s Lea Clark especially stuck a cord with my daughter since they both love animals, photography and traveling.
Lea is an adventurous 10 year old girl, wildlife lover, talented photographer and world traveler who discovers a world of possibilities on a family trip to Brazil to visit her brother who is studying the Amazon rainforest. American Girl hopes that Lea will inspire her fans to want to protect animals all around the world, just like she does.
Lea has hazel eyes, medium skin, and long wavy hair. She comes with a colorful, tropical-inspired dress with braided trim, underwear, and sandals with crisscrossed laces. Also included are her colorful canvas messenger bag, a pretend compass necklace, and the Lea Dives In paperback book by Lisa Yee.
The new American Girl of the Year 2016 will go on sale on January 1st 2016 in American Girl stores and on AmericanGirl.com!!
Just like all American Girls of the Year, Lea has fun accessories and outfits sold separately such as this Rainforest House.
And here is another adorable outfit…
To show girls that they can help protect animals and their habitats, American Girl has created Wild at Art, a year-long fund-raising campaign in support of World Wildlife Fund (WWF). Starting January 1, American Girl is encouraging girls to use their artistic abilities to host an art sale and donate the proceeds to WWF. To launch the campaign, American Girl has made a $50,000 donation to WWF and also invites customers to contribute at American Girl retail stores and americangirl.com. Parents can visit americangirl.com/wildatart to learn more and register for Wild at Art, plus get animal-themed craft ideas, and be entered into a sweepstakes for the chance to win one of 17 Lea prize packages.
