Avoiding “Hairy” Situations

When I was born, after finding out that I was healthy and had all 10 fingers and toes, my mom asked if I had hair.  She hated bald babies.  To this day, I want to know what she would have done with me if I didn’t have a head full of locks.  But let’s face it, hair makes an tremendous impact on anyone’s appearance.  Even major hearthrob Bradley Cooper didn’t look quite so stellar in Limitless when his hair was crazy in the opening of the film.  Almost all of us actually look and feel better about ourselves when we’re having a good day hair day.  My dream is to be able to get my hairblown out on an almost daily basis.  (I keep hoping to win the lottery!)

The man who coined the phrase “bad hair day”—renowned “hair doctor” Philip Kingsley—has created a new line of hair and body products especially for infants and babies.

PK Baby Shampoo & Bodywash Healthy Hair & Scalp products by ... ($28.00)

“PK Baby is a mild shampoo and body wash for daily use that is colorless, has a non allergenic and is SLS, SLES and paraben free.  It is an easy to rinse formula that contains chamomile extract to soothe the scalp and amaranth protein to gently moisturize both the skin and the hair. ”  The 2-in1-shampoo/body wash lathered effortlessly and was sudsy enough to easily wash my son’s hair and full body.  I prefer the packaging and larger 500 ml/16.9 fluid ounces size with pump to the other baby products I’ve previously used.  It has a professional salon-quality appearance.

When it comes to hair, we can’t forget about ourselves:

As moms, we have such little time and energy to pamper ourselves.  Sometimes we barely have time to even take a shower.  I am guilty of always having a rubberband on my wrist and am constantly putting my hair up in a ponytail.  I was so excited when I learned about Hairbanglez, wrist glam for hair bands.  Mom and entrepreneur Karin Zanella created hairbanglez, giving us a chic way to carry your spare hair tie. Each glossy plastic hairbangle has an indented groove designed to hold 1 elastic hair band. You simply pop the band in and out. Choose from skinny ($10) and classic ($12) designs.  These stylish black bangle bracelets look great alone or stacked with other bracelets.  Not only will you be keeping up with the trends, but you’ll eliminate those unsightly red marks on the wrist.  Apparently, daughters like this product too!

Here’s to no more bad hair days!

Lainie describes herself as "a natural born publicist who is constantly spreading the word about new products, activities and events." When Lainie is not chasing after her son or they are not watching Nick Jr or reading together, she scrapbooks and writes posts for her blog, "Me, Myself & Baby I" at http://memyselfandbabyi.wordpress.com. Lainie and her family live in New York City, where she sacrifices living space (but not style) to be in the center of it all in "the city that never sleeps." (Fortunately, her toddler is a sound sleeper who doesn't rise until after 9am, on most days.)
