Diaper bags are a new mom’s “it” accessory. Most moms happily trade out their handbag for a baby bag to schlepp around everything they will need with baby on-the-go. But just like a purse and any fashionable accessory, you almost always have more than one.

When I had my first baby, I started out with the big diaper bag. Being the nervous new mom, I wanted to make sure that I was prepared for everything. Extra outfits, handful of diapers, wipes, extra binkies, blankets, bottles, diaper cream, toys, and the list goes on.

When I started taking short trips with my daughter, I upgraded my diaper bag to an even BIGGER diaper bag with a weekender. That bag kept all her things for a few days in one place.

The ginormous bags are great and all, and definitely have a purpose, but when I just wanted to run out of the house on a quick errand, I honestly didn’t want to lug that monstrous bag with me. I just needed something cute and only big enough to hold a few diapers, a small wipes container, a bottle and maybe a few odds and ends. This is where a mini diaper bag comes in handy. Plus, once your baby becomes a toddler, you honestly don’t need to carry as much stuff on a day-to-day basis with them.

Recently, I had the chance to take a look at the Baby Cargo Fiona Convertible Bag and I’m a little sad it wasn’t around when I needed a mini but still used a standard diaper bag . This versatile bag is basically two bags in one. Zip it up to turn it into a mini “go bag” and it’s perfect for a quick outing. Unzip it, and you have yourself a standard diaper bag that can hold everything you need for baby for the day.

In mini-mode, you can fit a few diapers, wipes, two bottles, your phone, wallet, a spare outfit for baby and a few other small baby essentials all in a cute, stylish bag. It even comes with a changing pad! Plus, the bag is stylish enough that you can take it out solo without anyone realizing it is a diaper bag.

Get it in black, grey or brown and even dad will have no problem carrying it because it will just look like a man bag instead of screaming to his friends that he has butt cream in there.

The Baby Cargo Fiona Bag can be carried across your chest like a messenger bag or just over your shoulder with the wide, adjustable strap. And if you just don’t want to carry it at all, it has universal stroller hooks so that you can easily hang it on your stroller to be hands-free.

Disclosure: Thanks so much to Baby Cargo for sponsoring this giveaway.

  1. I must have diapers, wipes, one change of clothes, and a small snack for my one yr old. I think I feel like I carry more now that she’s 1 than when she was younger. But I leave my extra stuff in the car otherwise my diaper bag is too full and heavy.

  2. I never leave home without making sure I always have at least 1 diaper per child, wipes, a change of clothes, and Aquaphor (amazing for healing the worst diaper rash as well as scrapes and such)!

  3. When he was an infant, it was burp cloths to catch spit up or other substances. In a pinch they could also double as diapers if we ran out (we use cloth). But now, it’s snacks. We try not to leave the house without snacks. Toddlers are always hungry!

  4. Wipes are my must have item, even after the diaper stage – they are always useful for cleaning sticky hands, spills, messy faces, dirty surfaces etc.

  5. One item that is a must-have in my diaper bag or purse is definitely baby wipes! I use them for everything! I don’t know how I went out of the house without them before I had kids lol…

  6. Snacks!!! for sure! and a change of clothes for my Grandson! He loves to eat and wear it at the same time! My daughter would absolutely love this!!!!

  7. Other than three normal things like cloth diapers, wipes, and clothes I always keep a small bag of essential oils in our diaper bag. The ones that I always keep in there are clove (for teething), DiGize (for tummy aches), thieves (antibacterial), Gentle Baby (for all baby problems. It’s amazing! ), and stress away (for me!!!).

  8. In my diaper bag I must have an extra set of everything. All mommies know that it’s hard to limit ourselves to only one item when everything is a necessity when it comes to our precious babies

  9. the two bottle compartments would be perfect for water bottles. With a toddler you have a much larger load of a kid to carry and the bag is a perfect tag along.

  10. I definitely ALWAYS have snacks in my diaper bag… Both for me and my daughter! You never know when a rumbly in the tumbly will take over!

  11. It may seem silly, but lotion. It’s great as a moisturizer for you and baby. If I don’t have chapstick, I use lotion as a quick fix especially during the cold season.

  12. After the first experience with milk spit up I now make sure to have a change of shirt for me with everything else a baby needs!!
