Baby Gizmo Spotlight Review: Lenovo IdeaPad (VIDEO)

The Lenovo IdeaPad U310 Ultrabook packs a huge punch in a small package.  The laptop has a wonderful high end touch and feel that is very similar to the MacBook Airbook, but at ½ the price.  It has an aluminum look and feel to the chassis and the screen durability feels very solid.  Many of the ultrabooks on the market have a flimsy feel that makes you question the quality – NOT the Ideapad!

The U310 has incredible battery life at 6 hours and is easy to travel with at under 4 lbs.  The mouse pad is large and easy to manipulate.  It isn’t sticky like some of the other laptop brands where it leaves finger print marks and looks dirty.  The keyboard is the typical size for a 13 inch laptop, but the keys have a wonderful touch and feel.  Typing is not loud and annoying and the keyboard is big enough even for larger hands.  The only feature I would change on the IdeaPad is a matte finish on the display.  I know that this is a personal preference – but I believe you would see less finger prints when using the touch screen.

Speaking of the touch screen – one unique feature of the IdeaPad is the touch screen capability.  If you are like me, you typically don’t want finger prints all over your beautiful glossy screen!  But – with this little laptop I made an exception.  I love being able to work with someone and use the touch screen to point out items without having to turn the computer to use the mouse or keyboard.  The touch screen just makes a conversation easier!  Just keep a little screen cleaner with you so that you can make your screen pretty after your touch screen usage.

The features I like the most:

  • Durability and quality of chassis.
  • Speed and responsiveness – processing/memory are excellent.
  • Touch screen – I never would have guessed but I LOVE it!

If you are in the market for an incredible, lightweight laptop that is built with excellent quality, I would recommend you talk a look at the IdeaPad U310.  It has good battery life, lightweight, great internal specs and looks sexy!
