Baby Gizmo Visits the Chicago Brookfield Zoo

Sharing is caring!

Chicago is packed with things to do with the kids! The Shedd Aquarium, Navy Pier, American Girl Store, Field Museum, Museum of Science and Industry, Adler Planetarium, Six Flags Great America, Legoland Chicago, Lincoln Park Zoo and Brookfield Zoo are just a few of the great things to do in and around Chicago.

Brookfield Zoo

Today we are focusing on the Brookfield Zoo located just 14 miles from downtown Chicago. The Brookfield Zoo is packed with things for the whole family with shows, activities and special exhibits that both children and adults will equally enjoy. Upon hearing about a Fisher-Price Playdate being held at the zoo this past weekend, we headed out for a day of fun on Saturday.

My kids drove Power Wheels, danced with Mickey, played with Fisher-Price toys and that was just the beginning. After visiting the temporary playdate area, we headed to explore the rest of the zoo. There were so many fun things to do that my kids couldn’t narrow it down to what their favorite part was. They watched dolphins swim, touched sting rays, skipped through the children’s zoo, were honorary vets and zookeepers at the Family Zoo, growled back at lions, rode on the carousel, ate popcorn, ran like zebras and overall had a fabulous time.

Brookfield Zoo

We decided the Brookfield Zoo would be a perfect place for a video to show you everything (well, most of the things!) it has to offer families. The only thing we weren’t crazy about at the Brookfield Zoo is not do they have an admission price (which is typical and totally fine!) but many of the exhibits or portions of the zoo such as the dolphin show, sting rays, children’s zoo, family zoo and the Xtreme Bugs all cost a little extra once you get inside (between $2-$5/person each activity).

*Disclosure: Thanks to the Brookfield Zoo for hosting our family for a visit.
