Bikes & Trikes For Summer Strolls

Nothing screams summer more than an evening stroll after dinner. If we’re really out for a power walk, we pop the kiddos in our double BOB, but if we’re just looping the cul-de-sac our almost 3-year-old pulls her bike out of its’ garage parking spot and off we go! There are so many options when it comes to the best 2, 3 and 4 wheeled bikes and I asked other parents to chime in on their favorites over on my Facebook page, That Mama Gretchen. Here’s the scoop on everyone’s input …

Featured on Shark Tank, the KaZAM is one of the up and coming balance bikes out there.

whirlThe Whirl Balance Scooter from Prince Lionhart has such a chic European look – I love it!

The Strider ST-4 is perfect for 18 month to 5 year olds and then you have the option of upgrading to the SS-1 model.

step 2

Not a true bike or trike, the Step 2 Push Around Buggy is still a fun option for a walk with mom and dad.

With a ton of adjustment options, the Glide Bike is a fan favorite!

radio flyer

Oh, the push handle from Radio Flyer – definitely a favorite of mine. Especially for those first few months of bike time.

smart trike

Yep, totally smart! The Smart Trike transitions as your little one grows and gains new skills.

fisher price

The Fisher-Price Rock, Roll ‘n Ride Trike transitions well from inside to out – a good idea for keeping your bike a year round toy.

Before transitioning to life as a stay at home mom, Gretchen worked in sales and marketing while earning her Masters in Management and Organizational Leadership. 1. We have a Glide Bike. I chose it because of the foot rest. (Kazam also has this) I can not get the Glide bike to stay tight enough with the handle bars facing forward. They twist so the bike can’t be steared/ridden well. The co. didn’t offer help in the matter. I might recommend a Kazam bike or even the new Radio Flyer bike (No foot rest, but classically cute and inexpensive.)

    • Thanks or your feedback! My daughter loves the push bike right now … it helps when we go on longer walks and her little legs get tired from pedaling 🙂
