Consignment Sale Treasures

Have you made it to one of this season’s kid’s consignment sales? They are happening all across the country and mamas like you and me are walking away with screaming deals at a fraction of the retail price.

At the sales, items are screened for cleanliness and arranged in an orderly fashion (unlike most garage sales), you can find just about everything on your shopping list and if you opt to both shop and consign, you’ll practically break even when comparing your purchases and sales income.

One of my favorite sales is the Just Between Friends Sale – it’s a national sale so most likely there is one happening in your neck of the woods. If not, you can search this directory or this one and you’re bound to find one close by.

If you haven’t yet guessed, I’m a big fan of consignment sales! I save most of my shopping for the twice yearly sales and earn a presale pass for early bird shopping by consigning and volunteering. Here’s a glance at some of my treasures from the last sale I attended …

consignment girlA mix of summer clothes for my daughter including an American Girl hoodie for $4, a NWT GAP dress for $5, Old Navy flower top for $2, a zebra top with GAP shorts outfit for $5.50, DKNY shorts for $3 and an OshKosh crochet top for $1.50. She’s going to be so fashionable once the weather warms up!

consignment extrasAll the extras at consignment sales amaze me! I got this darling Foodie book for $1, a cute little nap mat, a Mudpuppy puzzle (these are the best because the pieces are really thick and sturdy), a traveler’s version of Settlers for $6.50, a TOMY brand buildable helicopter and Melissa and Doug tool set for my son’s upcoming birthday, and practically brand new Saltwaters and Keens for only $8 each!

consignment ergo$45. That’s all I paid for this super clean and barely used cranberry Ergo. Score!

consignment boyWe wouldn’t be ready for summer if my son didn’t get a few new-to-us duds too. Carters pajamas for $3, Gymboree kangaroo swim trunks and a mix of other comfy, but cool pieces will make my little man awfully cute in the coming months.

consignment puzzleBefore I could arrange this Melissa and Doug block puzzle and rainboots my daughter claimed them as her own! At $4 each, how could I say no?

Are you a consignment sale lover too? What has been one of your favorite finds?
