Doona Infant Car Seat Sneak Peek (VIDEO)

Doona INfant Car Seat

One of the new products that received the most attention among attendees of the ABC Kids Expo in Las Vegas last week was the Doona Infant Car Seat. This innovative car seat converts from infant car seat to lightweight travel system with integrated wheels. Performing as a standard infant car seat in the vehicle, you can remove this seat from the car, pop out the wheels and on you go. Doona is calling it a new kind of baby mobility system.

The Doona Infant Car Seat will accommodate babies from 4 to 35 lbs (or 32″ long). The seat is definitely not the lightest on the market and the sample we played with weighed about 14 lbs. When it comes out in December 2014, it will be certified for air travel making airplane travel with baby much easier. No need to worry about gate checking the stroller because this car seat and stroller in one will be able to go right on board with you. Fold the wheels away and install the infant car seat on the airplane seat. Easy-peasy!

We are a little concerned that it will encourage more parents to leave their babies in the infant car seat longer than necessary, and we’d also love to see a telescoping handle added because it is little short for our taller parent friends.
