  1. Have been doing Zumba for a couple of weeks now. My 3 1/2 year old twins keep asking me “Sing the Zumba song Mommy,” so I am thinking they really like it. I haven’t gotten them to get up and do it with me, but they definitely have fun watching me attempt it!! I used to be a “hard core” workout buff (something like 25 or 30 pounds and 4 kids ago). Not so much now. Zumba is a great cardio workout that will definitely shed some pounds if done often enough. I am not sure that it can really give the chiseled abs that all of their dancers have… but hey… its worth having fun trying!!

  2. Sari, you hit the nail on the head! When I do have a moment alone (rare), I’m just not motivated to exercise. Good to know you like the 30 Day Shred and Zumba… I think that’s the direction I’m heading.

    Mayra, hats off to you and all the working moms who juggle everything PLUS a day job. As much as I want to go back to work, it doesn’t make financial sense for us (and I have a panic attack thinking about how much I don’t get done as it is). Involving your 2yo is a great idea- you still get time together and get your heart rate up 🙂 Have fun!

  3. I work monday thru friday from 8am to 4pm and I really dont have any time to exercise, I am very thin but I want to do it to stay healthy, I might try the Zumba dvd I think my almost 2 year old would have a fun time doing it with me : ). Thanks!

  4. I’m in the same boat, except I only have 2 kids. One hasn’t napped in over a year and he isn’t even 4 yet and the other will be 2 in 8 days. Finding the time is really hard and then when I do have some time I’m never in the mood to exercise.

    I have the 30 day shred and was completely shocked at just how difficult it is. The great part about it is that it’s 20 minutes. She says if you want a 20 minute workout there is no resting and it makes perfect sense.

    I recently bought the Zumba and it is a ton of fun. My almost 4 year old does it with me when my almost 2 year old is napping. He laughs at me when I’m doing it so I can assure you I don’t look like the people on the DVDs. I had gone to a gym for a bit mostly for the Zumba classes. It was getting harder and harder to get there and I was wasting my money. So, I canceled the membership and spent the money on the DVD set.

    Some days I do the 20 minute shred followed by the 20 minute Zumba.
