Where Do I Find Fair Trade, Sustainable Clothing?

Did you know October is Fair Trade Month?

Fair trade is one of the trendy words that draws positive attention and a sense of honor. But what is it really? The short answer is … Fair Trade signifies a company or product that focuses on eight components in their business practices:

  1. Poverty Alleviation
  2. Workplace Safety
  3. Environmental Conservation
  4. Water Access
  5. Food Safety
  6. No Child Labor
  7. Women’s Empowerment
  8. Education

All things we can get behind, right? And the good news is – buying fair trade and supporting businesses who operate with fair trade in mind doesn’t always cost more. It’s just a realignment of sourcing and profit distribution. Most of all, it does everyone involved a world of good.

Personally, I can’t say enough good things about the products I have purchased fair trade. The quality is top notch and the heart behind the products make me proud to wear them … or eat them if we’re talking about fair trade coffee, tea and chocolate.

Today, I wanted to share a few of my favorite fair trade businesses. I think you’ll love their pieces as much as I do!
