Get Ready For December 1st With These Advent Calendars

I hate to be the one to tell you … but Christmas is coming soon! That means there are certain things that must be done in November, prior to the official start of Christmas season. One such thing is advent calendars!  Sorry Thanksgiving, you’ll get your day, but in the background us mamas have a little prep work to do for the December holiday.

  1. I need ideas to put inside the Advent calendar! I have a Target advent calendar, basic wood box with 25 little doors. I bought it before I had kids, and now we have six kids (ages 5 months-6)! What tiny little things can I fill the box with? I’ve done coins, chocolates…any other ideas?

    • One of the toy stores near me sells mini little animals that would fit – like the kind you’d get in a little vending machine. We’ve done those some years. You could also write little messages for an activity to put inside – like, “we’re making Christmas cookies today!” or “stringing popcorn for the tree” or “whoever’s birthday is next gets to pick a Christmas movie for after nap”. That could be fun 🙂
