IAlert – The Car Seat that Alerts You of a Problem

The First Years is introducing a revolutionary new car seat monitoring system that is designed to alert parents of potentially life-threatening situations. Built into The First Years True Fit Convertible Car Seat (for use from 5 to 65 lbs), the IAlert system monitors a child in the seat and notifies parents or caregivers via their smartphone if their child:

  • Rides in a rear facing position not installed at the desired angle
  • Becomes unbuckled while the vehicle is in motion
  • Is left in the car seat when the vehicle is not in motion
  • Is at risk due to elevated or freezing ambient temperature in the car seat

Being a parent of toddlers that have learned to unbuckle themselves in their car seat very early, I really like this idea. I hope it works as good as it sounds.

The First Years IAlert True Fit Convertible Car Seat will be available this Fall and there is no word yet on the retail price.

Is this something you would consider getting for your baby?
