Mary Poppins Thinks They Are Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

I’m wondering why Umbrella Day which is in honor of one of the world’s most invaluable inventions happens on February 10th and not in April. But I’ll just go with the flow and not rain on anyone’s parade.  Here are several family-friendly umbrellas to brighten up even the dreariest days.

Kidorable – Clothing, Rain Wear, and Accessories for Kids, Toddlers

Kidorable has taken the idea of the humble umbrella and transformed it into an imagination tent.  The company is proud to offer the most popular assortment of whimsical 100% nylon umbrellas ever created, including the English Roses rainwear line inspired by Madonna’s best-selling children’s book.  In addition to being utterly adorable, the umbrellas are child-sized for those little hands.

My Blue Bumbershoot

My Blue Bumbershoot is the the first ever hands-free stroller umbrella that protects parents as thet are pushing their child.  It’s the long-overdue brainchild of Melissa and Caryn, two city moms, who use their strollers like suburban moms use their cars and were tired of getting to their destination soaking wet.  It’s shaped like a bubble and see-through to prevent the user from crashing into oncoming pedestrians. It has a universal clamp which attaches to virtually all types of strollers.  What a super fun and very appropriate present to give at a baby shower!

Rainbow Spectrum Umbrella
You and your little one will never have to search for the rainbow after the rain with the MoMA’s Color Spectrum umbrella.  The child-sized umbrella features plastic safety tips and a special, kid-friendly clipless safety frame. Proceeds from the sale of these products are used to support the Museum’s programs.

I Splash Kids Umbrella

This upbeat Cheeky umbrella comes with a warning label for any child who likes to jump in puddles.  Cheeky Umbrella also offers fabulously fashionable umbrellas for parents , including  “This is shopping weather” which I have my eye on and the “I’m swingin’ in the rain”golf umbrella for when dad gets caught on the fairway.

Suddenly the rain doesn’t seem so gloomy, miserable and depressing.  Make sure you don’t get caught without one.  But let’s leave the flying to those with special super nanny powers.
