Melissa and Doug Water Wow Book Series

The Melissa and Doug Water Wow book is a reusable activity book. There are about 10 different themes to the books – vehicles, farm animals, the alphabet, and so on. Each book contains a large, chunky pen that gets filled with water. The book even has a built in storage compartment to store the pen when not in use, so it won’t get lost! Once the pen is filled with water, you “color” on the page to reveal hidden pictures. After a few minutes, the water dries and the picture returns to normal. Which means you can color on the same page again!

Each page has interactive aspects – find 6 bumblebees, 2 apples, or ten letters. There is also a “bonus” page at the end which gives an extra task – to find whatever objects pictured throughout the book. There are a few “girly” book themes, like manicures and makeup, or fairies, and my niece particularly enjoys those.

What I love most about the Water Wow books is that my son is ALWAYS entertained by them. We have four of these books and he plays with them all the time. They are so great to pull out in a place where kids need to be entertained quietly, like a restaurant or church. They keep kids occupied in the car – and because they are mess free, you don’t need to worry about what’s happening in the backseat!

For $5, on average, the books are great to have on hand. I pick up a new one whenever I see them – I’ve even found them at our local grocery store!
