Melissa and Doug Hi-Rise Dollhouse and Furniture Set Review

With 3 kids under 4, I’m always looking for toys that can work across all their ages. I want to make sure they can all play with it and that it will last a long time. The Melissa & Doug Hi-Rise Dollhouse definitely fits the bill, and so much more!

Dollhouse Review

My girls have been playing with little baby dolls and wanting to play dress up, and my son has been playing with little LEGO figurines and Star Wars action figures. I thought, if I could get something sort of gender neutral for all three of them to do dramatic play with, we would have a winner.

I found the Melissa & Doug Hi-Rise Dollhouse on Amazon, and really liked the style of it immediately. The colors aren’t obnoxious or overly childish, so it fits well with our home decor. It’s also pretty gender neutral, so I knew my kids would be happy to share it.

Dollhouse ReviewWhen it arrived on our doorstep, I was a bit hesitant about the assembly. I had a friend over, so we tackled it together during naptime. It was much easier to assemble than I had anticipated. Though, I must admit, there are a few awkward angles with the large pieces where you really need two people to work together. I’m sure if I did it alone, I could have figured it out, but having an extra person makes it much easier. They can hold the two large pieces in place while you screw the pieces together.

Once assembled, I was really pleased with the product. It’s the perfect size. Large enough for multiple kids to play with, but not so large that it takes over our room. The furniture and dolls that come with the house are darling and perfect for pretend play.

Dollhouse Review

I purchased the additional car with passengers, which fits perfectly into the garage on the Melissa & Doug Hi-Rise Dollhouse.

I also opted to purchase additional dolls to have extra. I wanted to avoid fits over them nd also have extra in case we lost a few. The extra dolls have come in really handy, so each of my kids basically has a complete family to play with. My girls are still in that parallel play stage, so they don’t play with each other as much as next to each other. Having their own sets makes parallel play much more peaceful.

Dollhouse Review

Probably my favorite part of the Melissa & Doug Hi-Rise Dollhouse is the sturdy construction and style of it. It really stands up to the rigorous play of three small children without dominating our living room with garish colors or loud noises.

I highly recommend this product and at just $109.90 on Amazon, you really won’t find anything better!
