Samsung is entering the world of video baby monitors this Spring and we are super excited about it!
The Samsung babyVIEW baby monitor sounds like it is going to be fantastic! Both the lightweight wireless monitor and camera are designed for maximum roaming range and a crystal clear picture so you always know what is going on in the nursery. It’s Samsung – you know the picture is going to be crystal clear! We just hope they have mastered the night vision to give us the best view at night when we are using the monitor the most!
The babyVIEW will sport features like a two-way intercom (one of our favorite features!!), digital zoom, a room temperature sensor with alarm and an infrared camera with invisible IR illuminator for nighttime viewing. Plus the camera will have lullaby feature that works with a touch of a button on the parent unit.
Sounds like a great video monitor, right? This one gets even better. This is one for the social network generation! The babyVIEW will let you share audio and video of your baby with friends and family via social networking web sites such as Facebook and Twitter using the built-in SD card technology that allows video captured from the monitor to be easily uploaded. And with USB compatibility, the monitor can plug into a computer running Skype and act as Webcam, so friends anywhere on the Internet can check in on your child.
The basic system consists of a lightweight handset monitor with a 2.4- or 3.5-inch screen and one camera, with up to three more available as add-ons. The handset has a range of 350 feet.
The Samsung babyVIEW goes on sale in spring 2011, and models will be priced from $199 to $299. There will be 5 different models available:
