“No Girls Allowed” (Other than Mom) at this Online VenueYou’ve heard me rant and rave before how uninspiring the clothing selection is for boys at most retailers. Recognizing the lack of boy’s specialty stores, Suzanne Remington created an online store just for boys. As the name implies, The Boys Store is an online clothing store exclusively for boys which offers a huge selection of fabulous and functional boys clothing ranging from casual to dressy to sportswear in a wide range of sizes from age newborn to age 18. The Boys Store carries a number of great name brands including Appaman, Dogwood, Neptune Zoo, Knuckleheads, and many more. Online users can search by category such as by age or brand, and you can even shop for organic or American made. There are also excellent deals in the on sale section which is by far my favorite category. The diverse merchandise includes t-shirts, sweaters, button up shirts; jackets/coats; jeans and pants; socks and shoes; pajamas; bathing suits; underwear and even hats. In addition, they carry toys and the trendiest gear and accessories.

Owner Suzanne Remington credits her training in dressmaking as giving her an “edge” in the industry. She is familiar with the process of making clothing, as well as the manufacturing of fiber and fabric, and the dyeing processes. This knowledge allows her to be very critical of an item on quality, durability, finishing touches. Suzanne understands that we all want our children to look good, but not at the expense of not being able to wash and wear an item for an extended period of time. (Don’t you hate it when you overspend for something which then doesn’t hold up after a few times in the laundry?) Her goal is to provide her customers with boys clothing they will love to dress their sons in and which also will become their boys’ favorite item(s) to wear. Plus, because it is often difficult to shop online and find the perfect fit, shoppers are encouraged to email anytime they have a particular question or concern, particularly about sizing, and they will be happy to find out for you and respond quickly. They truly make your shopping experience as simple, easy and hassle-free as possible.

I am always so excited to receive my package from The Boy’s Store in the mail. Every order is shipped with a hand-written thank you note (such an incredibly rare treat in this computerized digital age) and a small gift such as a toy, a craft item, stickers for the little boy.

If you have a boy in your life, make sure to join The Boy’s Store mailing list at to receive “Monthly Specials” and be entered in a monthly drawing for a $25 gift certificate.

Lainie Gutterman - Before giving birth to her son in 2009 and becoming a stay-at-home mom, Lainie was a founding partner of a Public Relations firm. Lainie describes herself as "a natural born publicist who is constantly spreading the word about new products, activities and events." When Lainie is not chasing after her son or they are not watching Nick Jr or reading together, she scrapbooks and writes posts for her blog, "Me, Myself & Baby I" at http://memyselfandbabyi.wordpress.com. Lainie and her family live in New York City, where she sacrifices living space (but not style) to be in the center of it all in "the city that never sleeps." (Fortunately, her toddler is a sound sleeper who doesn't rise until after 9am, on most days.)

Thank you for the wonderful post and the kind words; I truly appreciate it.

I have a 15 month old son and feel the same way. The clothing options for them at many stores is below average at best. Keep posting brands and sites, I’m always eager for a new place to order from.
