Peg Perego New ’09 Products

ABC Kids Expo News

I got the pleasure of seeing all the great products that Peg Perego is introducing to moms (and dads) in 2009.  Here is a brief rundown on the exciting things you can expect from them early next year:

Tatamia

The Tatamia is a mulitpurpose baby seat that can be used from the moment baby comes home from the hospital.  It is a very functional 3-in-1 product that was designed and built to be used from birth through the toddler years.  It’s a comfortable, height-adjustable recliner, a soothing, relaxing swing AND a high chair!  Plus, it folds down into an extremely compact unit for storage.  We can’t wait to review this innovative seat when it comes out in March 2009.  It looks great and we love that it’s three products in one!

Si Stroller

The Si Stroller is a new lightweight (only 12 lbs) stroller that is not only easy to fold but can accommodate a car seat.  Sporting adjustable handles, a cup holder, and a large basket, the Si will be a great on-the-go stroller.  The great compact fold can be done one-handed and even stands alone when folded.  As soon as Peg Perego starts releasing these babies, we’ll get a video review up so everyone can see the stroller in action!  The Si will be available in March 2009.

Skate Elite

The Skate Elite is the second generation of the original Peg Perego Skate stroller but has lost some weight.  The Skate Elite is 8lbs lighter for moms and dads on the go.  It also has a new folding mechanism, a modified shopping basket, and four fun new colors.  The Elite will be available in April 2009.

Sdraietta Melodia

The Sdraietta Melodia is Peg’s musical bouncer.  It plays four tunes and four nature sounds and has a toy bar to keep your baby happy and occupied during those first few months.  It has a multi-position backrest and a funky adjustable/removable sun canopy.  The bouncer even has a rocking base that switches to stationary mode and a compact folding system for easy traveling.  The Sdraietta Melodia will be available in four fun colors:  Corallo (red), Cedro (lime), Papaia (orange) and Moka (mocha/beige).  We love that bouncer looks great and comes in solid colors.  No teddy bears or cartoon patterns on this baby!  Yeah!

Are you as excited as we are about these new Peg Perego products?  Well, you’ll be waiting with us until early 2009 to get your hands on them.

@ kingston’s mom i thank you for your informative and comical updates on the Si. i too live in NYC, and am contemplating buying that stroller for my daughter. i was waiting for the chicco bella to come out in july, but after practing with a friend’s cortina in a different pattern, i’ve changed my mind about the bella because i rely on the MTA to get me around, and the chicco is too heavy to carry up and down bus steps. but gosh i love the color. i looked at the maclaren (which is WAY too popular in this… Read more »

peg perego si update its been two weeks and for the most part its a solid stroller. however besides the issues covered in my previous post, here is what’s happened with real world daily use.. SQUEAKING!!! the chasis squeaks horribly probably due to the spring loaded shocks. i tried wd40 which worked for one or two days and then the squeaking came back. then when you release the breaks, if you don’t do BOTH all the way, the squeaking is much louder because the break mechanizm is caught or something. the front swivel wheels go bezerk if both are not… Read more »

i just got the pp si! its a pretty good stroller and i’m happy with the features. there are a some things that could be addressed — when the stroller locks in the collapsed position, the left and right side arms don’t lock into place even though there are clamp-like brackets. the material used for the hood window doesn’t give you a clear view of your child. it’s kind of like looking through a dirty window or screen or something. the locking swivel wheels have to be independently locked (on my Uno both wheels locked if you locked just one).… Read more »

I got the original Skate and love it accept for the weight. 8lbs will really make a big difference. So I can’t wait to see the new Elite and the Tatamia.

I believe Peg Perego has moved the Skate Elite release date back to 2010.
