It’s time to check your food pantries, everyone, because thousands of jars of Beech-Nut baby food have been recalled!
Beech-Nut Nutrition has announced a recall of approximately 1,920 pounds of baby food products that may be contaminated with small pieces of glass, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s ood Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.
The recall involves 4-oz. glass jars containing “Stage 2 Beech-Nut CLASSICS sweet potato & chicken” that were produced on Dec. 12, 2014 and shipped to retail locations nationwide.
This voluntary recall comes after a consumer found a small piece of glass in one of the products and filed a report of an oral injury associated with consumption of these products. FSIS has received no additional reports of injury or illness from consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.
The recalled product contains the establishment number “P-68A” inside the USDA mark of inspection and includes product numbers “12395750815” through “12395750821”.
Consumers with questions about the recall can contact the Beech-Nut Consumer Hotline at (866) 674-4446.
Beech-Nut says consumers can return a recalled product to the store where it was purchased for a full refund or exchange.
