Score Some Daily Deals

If you’ve been following my posts here at babygizmo.com, it’s pretty obvious that I love to shop. Even more so, I love to get a good deal. And I am not alone. Judging by the enormous popularity of daily deal websites—and there are tons of them—lots of other people out there are also looking to save money.

Daily deal sites are just what they sound like—websites that offer certain deals each day. Many of these sites are geared specifically toward parents, offering deals on baby and kids’ clothing, children’s books, toys, etc. Once you sign up to become a member of those sites, you’ll receive emails containing that day’s deals. Other sites offer deals for everyone, but you can elect to receive emails about only the family-focused deals. Or you can opt out of emails altogether and shop directly from the sites.

Here is a roundup of some popular daily deal websites and what they offer for families. Let us know if we missed your favorite!

Amazon Local: Amazon Local offers deals of up to 75% off regular prices for local and national businesses. Many of the deals are family-friendly, such as a $50 gift card to the Vermont Teddy Bear Company for $25. When you sign up, you can mark down your preferences for each category so that Amazon can tailor the deals it sends to you. Under Entertainment & Travel, for example, you can indicate that you like “Family Fun.” Under Shopping & Services, you can indicate a preference for “Toys, Kids & Baby.”

BabySteals.com: This site sells two quality baby or maternity products each day, at up to 80% off retail prices, until they sell out. The items are posted at 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. MT.
