Opting for the personal touch of assembling the gift bags for the Baby Gizmo Book Launch & Hot Products Party ourselves rather than use a gift bag service, my husband and I spent 6 1/2 hours the afternoon and evening before the party putting together the cutest, best gift bags ever.
We battled a New York snowstorm to arrive at Citibabes to tackle the huge job of assembling 200 pink gift bags containing some of the cutest baby accessories around. Tiny leather Pediped Shoes? Check! Adorable NY Trumpette baby socks? Check! Cute BabyLegs leg warmers? Check! Chic Bebe au Lait nursing covers? Yep! Svan Bibs? Absolutely! Little Laureate DVDs? Got it! We had products, informational literature and discounts from great companies such as Storksak, Moonlight Slumber, Bugaboo, Dreamer Design, HABA, Fleurville, Scandinavian Child, & Oopa Baby.
Starting at 2:30pm, we lined a Citibabes art room with the many boxes of products and informational items in an attempt to get a assembly line going. After an hour and a half and only 25 bags completed, we knew we were in trouble. We tried to call for reinforcements, but unfortunately, they were either sick or not in town yet. So, we continued to fly around the room at mock speed trying to beat the clock and get the bags assembled before our time was up. Even though Citibabes needed the art room for a class at 5pm, they were more than accomodating by letting us continue and moving the class down the hall.
After putting in all the products, adding tissue paper and tying a ribbon, all 200 bags were complete by 9pm. Yep, we assembled bags for 6 1/2 hours. But I have to say, the bags looked GOOD! Well, actually they were gorgeous! So, all our hard work was worth it for each guest at the party to have a great parting gift as they left.
