  1. When my son was born, my Mom told me everyday with your baby is a gift. Enjoy every moment because babyhood goes very quick. I’ve always treasured that advice, because it couldn’t be more true.

  2. RELAX! I swear I spent the first few weeks in a panic thinking that everything I was doing was wrong and every time my son cried it was because I was failing. Once someone sat down and told me to RELAX and that panicking and being so high strung wasn’t helping anyone. Life was so much easier.

  3. The most helpful advice that I got was to research EVERYTHING yourself and make your OWN educated and informed decisions for you and your baby!

  4. Trust your mama instincts. The doctors told me that since we’re Asian, our kid will look more jaundice but isn’t. I thought our daughter looked more jaundice than I was comfortable with and when I requested a blood test, her levels were so high that she almost had brain damage.

  5. The most useful piece of parenting advice I’ve read in a comment: PRAY and be prepared to have patience. To that, I say AMEN.

  6. Best parenting advice: cosleeping makes nighttimes so much easier with an infant. In my experience, it has removed the expectation that babies should sleep through the night, and when my babies woke/wake during the night, they could easily breastfeed back to sleep and I barely have to wake to do it!

  7. One of the most useful pieces of advice I have received since becoming a mom I think has to be to have a hiding place, somewhere to get away from all the craziness if only for a moment to keep your sanity. I use to cry a lot about what I couldn’t control, or figure out, or even just make it better if my little one began to cry hysterically until I found out that its normal to feel overwhelmed and stressed, it doesn’t make me a bad mom it just makes me human and its okay to step away and regain my sanity the last thing I would want is to be the reason my babies are hurt so I step away take a breathe and approach the situation calmly.
