Grocery shopping with kids is usually a bit nerve-wrecking, but when your child starts to get restless, it’s pretty hard to deal with. Especially with all the disapproving stares.
Not for Mubarak Ahmad. He’s a superhero cashier.
Mother-of-one Lauren Walker was out at M&S Foothall in Glasgow with her mother and 10 month old baby Alistair, when the little one started to get upset. Feeling as though they should just go home, they were surprised when worker Mubarak came over and started talking to the little guy in order to comfort him and let the ladies shop.
When they got to the register, Alistair was so excited to see his new friend that he started waving “Hiya! Hiya!” Mubarak then took his kindness up a notch by holding the baby with one arm and scanning Lauren’s items with the other. How incredible is that?!
You can watch the short clip HERE on Lauren’s Facebook page.
‘Thanks to Mubarak, he really made my shopping experience much more enjoyable. It really just seemed second nature to him to help in this way and, to be honest, Alistair wasn’t impressed when it was time to leave and he was handed back to me.’
Mubarak has taken the attention in his stride by saying, ‘Chatting to customers and helping make a difference where I can is the bit of my job I enjoy the most.’
We need more people like this in stores! Dear M&S, Mubarak needs to be awarded employee of the year!
