A Trip to Meet Vanity Fair

*I participated in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Influence Central for Vanity Fair.

No matter what your job is, how many kids you have or where you live, women are always doing. We are raising families, running businesses, taking care of others, taking care of ourselves and so much more. With the stress of busy lives and raising kids, I’m a big believer in celebrating other women through support and inspiration.

That’s why when Vanity Fair approached me to become an ambassador this year for their amazing brand that has been supporting women for nearly 100 years and their new campaign “Women Who Do,” I said yes, of course.

We all know Vanity Fair and their lingerie that is feminine, beautiful, and functional. For almost a century, women have been wearing their elegant (but affordable!) bras that support and lift with attention to details that make them comfortable and great for everyday wear.

The “Women Who Do” initiative that Vanity Fair is launching is an uplifting campaign dedicated to praising and celebrating everyday triumphs of women everywhere in the hopes to inspire women to support, encourage and celebrate each other.

For the next 6 months, I will be sharing with you reviews, information, experiences, brand specials and more about Vanity Fair, “Women Who Do” and an amazing partnership with “Dress for Success.”

To start this journey, last week I headed to NYC to a Blogger Summit that I joined a group of amazing women to meet the people behind the brand, get to know the products inside and out and even preview secret products that will be hitting the lingerie shelves soon.

This quick 36-hour trip started with an amazing dinner at the famed ABC Kitchen in New York to give the brand an opportunity to introduce themselves and a chance for all the lovely ladies to get to know each other. We talked about women who have inspired us in the past and women who continue to inspire us on a daily basis while enjoying a vast variety of delicious food with new friends.

After dinner and a long day of travel for many of us, we retired to our rooms at The Refinery Hotel (which is ahhh-mazing, by the way, and you should totally stay there if you visit NYC!)

The second day of the Summit was not only informational but a lot of fun! JoAnna Beddingfield, VP of Brand Management for Vanity Fair, spoke about the past, present and future of the company.

After getting up close and personal with the entire line of Vanity Fair bras and panties (yes, we felt them, stretched them, rubbed them and passed them around the room!), 25 ambassadors overtook the lingerie department of Macy’s for bra fittings.

Vanity Fair

Did you know that about 80% of women wear the incorrect bra size? Yep, I was part of that 80%! Think about it: we wear bras all day long. Okay, maybe not when we are at home in our “soft clothes” but we wear them A LOT! Having a bra that isn’t properly fit or uncomfortable just seems wrong. A bra that creates back rolls or lets your breasts sag or spill out the tops of the cups isn’t doing anyone any favors but, we as women, get busy and forget that as years go on our bodies may change due to weight loss, weight gain and having babies. When our bodies change, our bra size follows suit and should change too.

In order to make sure you are wearing a properly fitting bra, we just need to spend a few extra minutes at the store getting measured by a trained professional. That’s why we headed to Macy’s as part of our Summit! Yep, after losing a bit of weight earlier in the year, my bra size changed again. No wonder my bra was gapping at the sides. That’s no good, and in order to feel our best, we need to look our best.

Vanity Fair

To celebrate our new partnership with Vanity Fair, they gifted me some bras to get me back on track! Very exciting! After I tried them on, I was kicking myself that I hadn’t done it sooner. Why was I settling for a bra that I was always adjusting and pulling on throughout the day? Or one that was digging into my sides not only making me uncomfortable but creating extra rolls under my shirt? Seriously, no one has time for extra rolls!

My new bras have quickly become a favorite! I chose the Vanity Fair Beauty Back bra that has an all around smoothing and shaping effect  that stays in place and doesn’t create extra bulges on the back. They offer the Beauty Back Bra in no-poke underwire and wirefree styles but I found that the underwire was prefect for me to lift and stay put. Seriously, it’s hard for me to find a bra that is comfortable but I think I’ve found it in the Beauty Back Bra.

If you haven’t bought a new bra in a while (which you should really be buying at least 2-3 new bras a year!), do me (and you!) a favor by going to get a quick measurement fitting and checking out the Vanity Fair Beauty Back Bra. I really think you’ll like it!

*Disclosure: I received product samples to facilitate my review and compensation to thank me for my participation. As always, all thoughts, opinions and statements are my own.

  1. I was in the same boat in the wrong size! I’m thrilled with the choices I made and can’t wait to try some more styles!

  2. I was fitted less than a year ago and I was still in the wrong size! It’s amazing how much and how quickly women’s bodies can change. It’s a good idea for all of us to get fitted once a year.

  3. “No one has time for extra rolls!” TRUTH!!!! 🙂

I have thrown out 2 bras that were totally uncomfortable and that I now know weren’t the right fit for me thanks to my time spent with Vanity Fair. Why waste the drawer space when you can have a perfectfly fitting bra?!

  4. It was great meeting you last week and YEAH on losing weight…we often forget that we lose weight in our breasts too. 🙂 So glad they were able to get your fitted and you love your new bra.

  5. Where has this Beauty Back Bra been all my life. Love to dig in to the brand further. Plus, what nice feminine touches they have…and not gaudy. Just so lovely!

  6. Such a fun opportunity. I had a great time meeting and talking to you last week! I was also someone wearing the wrong bra size due to being pregnant & giving birth last year and still currently nursing my son. Wearing the correct size the past few days has been amazing so I totally feel that every woman needs to get fit.

  7. I was fitted last year for a bra after many year and babies. I was moved to a size that was totally different than what I thought I was. Great for all women to be fitted every cople years at the least.
