Clean Your Dishwasher in 3 Easy Steps!

Sharing is caring!

Do you know how to clean your dishwasher? My husband and I have rented homes for 11 years now. Each apartment, condo, and house with different appliances. Some were brand new, most were less than ideal.

Nothing is more frustrating than opening your dishwasher to find all the dishes you prewashed and then ran through the washer are STILL dirty. UGH! I need those sippy cups NOW!

I learned a little trick, not long ago, to clean your dishwasher in 3 easy steps that I’ve found can revitalise even the grimiest washer around.

Check it out!

Clean Your Dishwasher in 3 Easy Steps:

1. Check your filter for debris or scraps. Make sure to clear out as much loose food, etc. that you can. This will make a huge difference in your wash.

2. Place a measuring cup with one cup of white vinegar in the top rack of your empty dishwasher. Let it run one complete cycle with nothing in the dishwasher besides the cup of vinegar

3. Once the cycle is complete, empty the measuring cup (which is now full of water), and sprinkle a cup of baking soda in the bottom of your dishwasher. Now run a complete cycle with the hottest water possible. You will open up a fresh smelling sparkling dishwasher!

That’s it! Super easy to clean your dishwasher. And cleaner than ever before.

there may be a filter under the bottom spray arm. If it is goopy the dishes won't get clean until this filter and the area around it is cleaned. The filter will either need to be cleaned or replaced. Go online and look-up your exact model. Either crawl in there and unscrew everything to do it yourself or calll a repair service. Watch them to learn to do it yourself yearly.
