Chicco FastAsleep Playard Review

Sharing is caring!

A good playard is a must have for a new parent because eventually you will have to set that baby down. Whether it is for a quick bathroom visit, a shower or to just to get a break, you’ll want a place that keeps your baby safe and secure whether they are sleeping or playing.

Chicco just debuted their newest playard, the Chicco FastAsleep, and we think you need to know about it. It may be the fastest playard that you ever set up. We know that traditional playards can be tricky to set up with which side to lock first, do you push the floor down first or second and “WHY WON’T IT JUST LOCK INTO PLACE ALREADY!?!?”

All that trouble vanishes with the new Chicco FastAsleep.

This playard sets up in about 3 seconds and you don’t have to worry about locking each “wall” or side into place or anything. You grab it with two hands, pull apart and basically sets up like magic. Yes, you become a playard setting up ninja with this one. (You have to watch the video to really appreciate it!)

Not only is it easy to set up but it has some other fantastic features like a full mesh surround, storage, an infant napper and one of the largest playard changing tables on the market.

First let’s start with the creme de la creme of the FastAsleep – the unfold! It’s so easy that you can do it in less than 5 seconds.

That’s not all though. This playard comes with a full mesh surround for plenty of air flow and for the baby to be able to see out. Per the manufacturer, it has a 30 lb weight capacity but since the mattress (and floor of the playard) actually sets on the floor, we think the weight capacity can be much higher as long as your child doesn’t try to climb out on their own.

The FastAsleep also features a large, easy to clean changing table with three storage compartments for wipes, diapers and other baby essentials.

We love that the changing tables snaps onto the playard so easily but we love the fact that it turns into a infant napper even more by just flipping one side up.

Since the infant napper does not have any harness, it is designed for newborns up to about 3 months old. If your baby starts to want to roll over, it’s time to stop using the napper though.

Folding away the FastAsleep for storage or travel is (almost!) just as easy as the unfold. (Again, watch the video to see this unfold magic!) We love that the playard includes two bags – one for the playard and mattress and one for the changing table/napper. That way if we just want to travel with the playard and leave the changing table at home, we can.

Here is how big the playard is in the bag…

The Chicco FastAsleep retails for $179 and you can grab one on Amazon.com. You can also get the FastAsleep Go WITHOUT a changing table/napper for a little cheaper at $149.

I would love to win this for baby #2! We had a pack and play for our first one but it didn't sit flat on the ground and my daughter HATED how much it wiggled because of that. This one looks amazing!
