Contours Bitsy Stroller Review

Sharing is caring!

Sometimes bigger is better, but in the case of a travel stroller when your space is alright limited, that is not always true. Thankfully, stroller companies know that while there is a time and a place for huge, bulky travel systems, there is also a need for a compact, easy-to-fold, lightweight strollers when we want to take baby on-the-go.

Contours Bitsy Video

Contours just released their newest addition to their line of strollers and this one is “small but mighty”! The Contours Bitsy is a super lightweight stroller (only 13.5 lbs) that features a roomy seat but one-handed fold that folds the stroller into a very small package.

SEAT

The Bitsy seat measures 14″ wide with an 18″ seat back and a measurement of 26″ from back of seat to top of canopy. It accommodates up to 40 lbs and sports a padded, 5-point harness with an easy-to-do buckle. There is a strap recline system that allows the seat to be reclined half-way back appropriate for 6 months and up. (You can use the stroller with a newborn in travel system mode with an infant car seat.) An adjustable calf rest has three positions to keep your little one’s legs comfy.

CANOPY

You know that size matters when it comes to canopies and the Bitsy four panel (including a pop out sun visor) doesn’t disappoint. We also like that there is a mesh peek-a-boo window with a cover that has a magnetic closure (no Velcro!).

BASKET

There is a medium sized basket under the seat that can easily hold a medium diaper bag or quite a few baby essentials. Like most strollers, you do need to empty the basket to fold the stroller.

HANDLE

The foam covered, non-adjustable handlebar is taller at 40″ from ground to handle but parents who are super tall should probably try the stroller first to make sure the handle height is good to give them a comfortable push.

WHEELS

The Bitsy rolls on on small 5″ hard rubber wheels that are best on smooth surfaces but allow the stroller to glide easily on such surfaces. The stroller has all-wheel suspension and features a flip flop friendly, one-step brake.

FOLD/UNFOLD

One of the best features of the Bitsy is the super compact, easy fold. With one hand, you can fold the stroller down to a package so small that it can fit in the overhead bin of most airplanes. Yep, THAT small. Plus, with it only weighing 13.5 lbs it’s easy to take on the go.

TRAVEL SYSTEM

Normally, you won’t expect such a lightweight stroller to become a travel system but the Bitsy does that too. With the integrated straps (no additional adapters needed!), you can use one of 30+ infant car seats with the stroller to turn it into a travel system for your newborn.

WRAP-UP

The Bitsy retails for $179 and is available in the “Midnight” fashion (dark grey) at Buy Buy Baby now. Starting in June 2018, it will be available in two additional fashions (teal and a lighter grey) at other ONLINE retailers such as Amazon.com.

Overall, we love the Bitsy. The only addition we’d love to see is an included travel bag but I’m sure Contours is working on that. (If not, they should!)

You can purchase Contours Bitsy on Amazon.com.

you can buy the NUBY Deluxe stroller weather shield. I covers most lightweight strollers very well without overflow.

What rain shield are people using with the Bitsy? As far as I can tell, Contours has not yet made a compatible rain shield? Is there a hack? Like could the shield from the Nano work on the Bitsy?
