Tips on Visiting Magnolia Market in Waco, Texas

Sharing is caring!

In Texas, nestled between Austin and Dallas/Fort Worth, is Waco – the home of Magnolia Market. Last summer I had the opportunity to visit and let me tell you, it’s absolutely worth  it! Magnolia Market is a true American experience – the perfect stop for snacks, home decor, and endless inspiration.

Magnolia Market at the Silos is a big deal. Some say the whole city of Waco has been revived thanks to Chip and Joanna Gaines, creators behind show Fixer Upper and the Magnolia brand. Because of this, don’t just wander by, rather, treat Magnolia as a tourist attraction and do your research beforehand. Starting right here!

Then, become familiar with the site, follow Magnolia’s Instagram, and for an insider look, checkout the #magnoliamarket hashtag across social media.

Now, here’s what you need to know when you visit Magnolia Market …

Make It a Day

There is no need to rush a good thing! One hour won’t do justice to the Magnolia scene and just an afternoon will leave you feeling rushed. Give this stop on your travel agenda a full day and really soak up the inspiration that is all around.

Be at the Silos Baking Co. When It Opens

The line into this itsy bitsy shop can be crazy long … but the treats are absolutely worth it! Arrive when it opens at 7:30am, then wander the grounds and take advantage of all the photo opportunities before the market opens at 9am. Double check times before you head out since they can change seasonally.

Don’t Miss Magnolia Seed + Supply

During my visit to Magnolia I almost missed this gem since it’s a separate building tucked out back. This shop is darling and full of outdoor products you won’t find inside. I particularly loved the collection of fairy garden supplies.

Order Online

Of course you’re at Magnolia to shop Joanna’s treasures, but if you’re a flight away or are worried about how something will fit in your car, make note and order online! That’s exactly what I did when I fell in love with this wreath. Better yet, if you subscribe to Magnolia emails, you’ll score a coupon code to save on your online purchase.

Buy My Favorite Tank

Hands down this tank is the most worn item in my closet. It’s super soft and the best souvenir. So, if you’re torn on what home decor item(s) you need, snag one of these and wear your Magnolia love with pride.

Eat at Torchy’s Tacos

Even though food trucks are often parked at Magnolia you may want to hop in your car and head to Torchy’s Tacos (801 S 5th St) which is close by. Torchy’s has the most amazing tacos, I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Visit The Findery Too

Magnolia Market is everything but it’s not the only place to shop in Waco! I highly recommend checking out The Findery (501 S 8th St). It’s just a few blocks away, definitely within walking distance!

Have you been to Waco, Texas to visit Magnolia Market at the Silos? What made your trip a success?
