Maverix USA California Electric Skateboard Review

At a toy conference last summer, I met the people behind Maverix USA and had the opportunity to try one of these amazing electric skateboards. After zooming around on a Batman board navigating around people with my mad skills, I knew immediately that the Junior Gizmo kids had to try one out. Sure, mom can hold her own on the Maverix California board, but let’s be honest, these boards weren’t made for the middle aged. They were made for kids, teens (THE sweet spot!) and young adults.

Maverix USA makes a variety of electric skateboards that are built for different weights and ages and sport different max speeds but we tried out one of the “beginner” Maverix California Electric Skateboard that has a 143 lbs weight capacity and features three speeds (slow, medium and expert) with the max at 9 mph. This board introduces young riders to “riding electric”. The handheld trigger remote makes the board move if you pull the trigger back, and if you push it forward, the ABS brakes engage.

The board is made of laminated maple wood and comes in a variety of designs. We received the Superman board.

The vibrant design on the slip-resistant board was amazing! Superman pretty much jumps off the board and other kids in the neighborhood couldn’t help but be drawn to this fun skateboard.
