A year ago I shared our first impressions of the Samsung Bespoke 4 Door Flex with Family Hub refrigerator, and now that we’ve lived with it day in and day out, this is the real “dad in the trenches” follow-up. Short version: I’m still very happy with the purchase. This fridge has handled family life, busy mornings, random DIY projects that somehow end with drinks in the garage fridge, and everything in between. Let’s address the elephant in the room right away: Samsung ice makers. They’ve had a rough reputation over the years, and I know that scares people off. I’m happy to report that after an entire year of daily use, we have been completely problem-free with our ice maker. No freezing up, no weird noises, no chipping ice out at midnight. Maybe Samsung finally fixed things with the newer fridge versions, because ours has been rock solid so far—and that’s been a huge win in our house.
The Family Hub has also turned out to be something we genuinely use, not just a flashy screen on the front of the fridge. We love having it as a central family spot, and it’s surprisingly handy. Our favorite Family Hub features include:
- Shared family calendar and reminders
- Music and Spotify streaming while cooking
- Viewing inside the fridge without opening the doors
- Notes, to-do lists, and quick messages for the family
- Weather updates and daily info at a glance
It’s one of those things you don’t think you need until it’s part of your daily routine.
Finally, there are two features we wouldn’t want to live without now: the water system and the Flex Zone. The water dispenser paired with the built-in water pitcher stored right in the door is fantastic—always cold, always ready, and no clutter on the counter. And the Flex Zone? We love it so much this is actually our second Flex Zone refrigerator. Our last house had one too, and it sold with the house, so adding it again was a no-brainer. Being able to switch that space between fridge and freezer depending on what life throws at you is incredibly useful. All in all, one year later, we’re still happy with the Samsung Bespoke 4 Door Flex with Family Hub, and it’s held up exactly how you’d hope a big family appliance would.
