The Heated Gear So Good My Teen Keeps Stealing It: Wasoto Jacket & Vest Review

Sharing is caring!

I’ll be honest—when I first picked up the Wasoto Heated Jacket and Heated Vest, I thought they’d be just another gimmicky winter gadget destined to live in the back of the coat closet. But after a few cold mornings, a couple of outdoor chores, and a late-night football game or two, I was hooked. These things are warm, simple, and downright reliable. In fact, they’re so good that even my picky 18-year-old son—who acts like everything I own is ancient—likes to steal the vest and “borrow” the jacket whenever he heads out to watch a game. (I’ll add the photo proof of him in the vest.)

The Wasoto Heated Jacket surprised me right away because it isn’t bulky. You know the type—jackets that make you look like you’re wearing a sleeping bag just to stay warm. This one feels lightweight but still manages to kick out some serious heat. The heating elements are strong, evenly placed, and warm up quickly, which means no shivering while waiting for the car to heat up or sitting through a windy game.

What I appreciate most is how long the heat lasts. You don’t get that wimpy one-hour boost like some cheaper heated gear. This thing keeps going for hours, and the construction is solid enough that I’m not worried about it falling apart after one season. The material feels durable, the stitching is clean, and the whole jacket just feels well made—like something that can handle actual winter, not just a chilly breeze.

The Wasoto Heated Jacket even kept my 16 year old warm at the Summit of Pikes Peak – what I like to call the top of the world!

The Wasoto Heated Vest has quickly become one of my favorite pieces of cold-weather gear. It has the same low-profile design as the jacket, which I love—warm but not bulky. I can throw it on over a hoodie, under a coat, or just wear it on its own for those in-between temperature days. The heat panel placement is spot-on, and it gives you that cozy, all-around warmth without overheating.

Just like the jacket, the vest is impressively well made. It holds heat for hours, which is perfect for long outdoor events or running around town. And again—my biggest endorsement? My 18-year-old son keeps stealing it. If something passes the “teenager actually likes it enough to take it without asking” test, you know it’s a winner. I’ll drop a photo of him wearing it, just to prove he likes it more than he’ll admit.

My 16 year old was even spotted on the ice rink for the first time in the heated vest!

At the end of the day, the Wasoto heated jacket and vest have earned a permanent spot in my cold-weather lineup. They’re warm without the bulk, tough enough for everyday wear, and reliable when the temperature really drops. And if my picky 18-year-old keeps “borrowing” them for football games, I guess that’s the best review of all. If you’re looking for gear that actually delivers on comfort, heat, and quality, these are absolutely worth it.
