TWELVElittle Companion Diaper Backpack Review

Sharing is caring!

With a newly potty trained toddler and twin infants, I don’t mess around when it comes to my diaper bag. I received a large, traditional diaper bag at my baby shower for the twins, and while it held everything I needed, the single strap became cumbersome when loading the kids in and out of the car.

I felt like it was so heavy and always in the way, which lead me to start searching for a diaper backpack. I needed something I could throw on my back allowing me to wear one of the twins in a front carrier and push the other two kids in my double stroller.

I was super excited to check out the TWELVElittle Companion Diaper Backpack and see if it would meet all my needs and carry the crazy amount of stuff a mom of a toddler and twins needs when out on the town.

The Companion Backpack is absolutely adorable and made with soft and lightweight water resistant nylon, making it both super stylish and super practical. On our first outing, my twins pre-filled bottles dribbled all over the outside of the bag. No problem. Just a quick wipe with a baby wipe and it was good as new.

The main compartment is GIANT and fit everything I needed for all three kiddos, and with multiple exterior and interior pockets, is was super easy to stay organized. I was able to pack:

  • 20 Size 2 diapers
  • 2 small cans of formula
  • A change of clothes & underwear for my toddler
  • 3 pull-ups
  • 2 infant onesies
  • 2 infant pajamas
  • 2 infant sun hats
  • 1 large pack of wipes
  • 3 infant toys
  • 2 travel hand sanitizers
  • 1 full-size sunscreen
  • 2 bottles (Actually, the side pockets will each hold 2 small bottles or 1 large bottle/sippy cup, so you could carry 4 small bottles, if needed)
  • and my small purse.

Yes. I fit everything I needed for 3 kids, plus my purse inside this backpack. AND it was still surprisingly light and comfortable!

I can already tell the straps and seams are extremely high quality and will withstand weight and wear very well. The water-resistant soft quilted nylon is fashionable yet functional, and the leather trim reinforces both the look and strength of the bag.

The padded shoulder straps make it really comfortable to wear, and the hidden zipper in the bottom is perfect for stowing dirty diapers. I also used the changing pad several times when we were out, and I love how it folds up small and fits perfectly in the front zipper pocket, making it really easy to access in a hurry.

There are a few issues to consider. First, there isn’t any way to clip the bag to your stroller handle, which is a minus for some. Also, my husband wore the backpack for part of the day (which is another reason why I love the gender neutral black color. Good for moms and dads alike), and he found the straps to be too tight for his 6’ 1” frame, even at their loosest setting. I found them to be quite comfortable, and I’m a plus-sized 5’4”.

All in all, the TWELVElittle Companion Backpack is perfect for the stylish mom on-the-go. It comes in three different colors: black, plum and teal and retails for $195.00. I highly recommend it!

Thank you for this review! I've been on the fence with this diaper bag. I feel like I've gone through so many different ones. I have 5mth old twins and an almost 2yo (not near potty trained haha). Like you said the one strap is so cumbersome when loading kiddies out the door and in car. I'm going to bite the bullet and get it! I'm so excited it worked out well for you :)
