My husband makes some mean kettle corn, but the other day, I was craving something a little bit sweeter. I was feeling inspired, so I decided to try my hand at making my own caramel popcorn. Here are eight amazing recipes I found while searching for the perfect one to try. Check ’em out!
Caramel Popcorn: This recipe isn’t hard, but it’s exact—the author has their caramel-popcorn-making down to a science. Which, quite frankly, means you know it’s going to be awesome.
Cracker Jack: As soon as I started thinking about caramely popcorn, I started thinking about Cracker Jack. Maybe because my husband has had baseball on non-stop for the past couple weeks? I don’t know. But I found a recipe for it and learned that it’s caramel popcorn with a little bit of molasses added. Who knew?
Salted Caramel Popcorn: Salted caramel is still a huge flavor trend in chocolate, so why not give it a try on your popcorn? (PS: I recommend using the sea salt over the kosher salt.)
Salted Caramel Popcorn Brownies: See, what did I tell you about the whole salted-caramel-and-chocolate thing? These brownies are a treat that’s salty, sweet, crunchy, and chewy all at once!
Dark Chocolate Caramel Popcorn: Like the Cracker Jack, this recipe has nuts. Unlike the Cracker Jack recipe, you can use whatever nut you choose, or leave them out altogether and just have delicious chocolatey caramelly popcorn (which would be my choice—nothing against the nuts, but yum!)
Caramel Popcorn Chocolate Bark: I love chocolate bark and I love popcorn, so the two together are bound to be delicious! And this is a very simple recipe, but if you prefer something a little crazier (and more colorful), here’s one with mini M&Ms and crushed Butterfingers sprinkled in.
Chicago-Style Popcorn: Well, when you don’t know whether you want something salty or sweet, this is the snack for you. Buttered popcorn mixed with cheddar popcorn mixed with popcorn. And yes, it’s a real Chicago thing; I checked.
Finally, here’s one more recipe for you. It’s an adult recipe. In fact, it’s so adult, there wasn’t even a picture of it: Tipsy Bourbon Caramel Corn. Step your popcorn treat up a notch with a little bit of bourbon. Oh—maybe serve it alongside some crispy bacon, too!
