This full-size stroller, for newborns and children up to 55 lbs, features a reversible seat, gigantic, full-coverage canopy, adjustable handle, shock absorbers on all four wheels, and large EVA wheels that feature ball bearings. Plus, the Quad accepts an infant car seat to become a travel system, or a bassinet to transform into a pram.
The Quad seat is roomy at 12″ wide with a 21″ seat back and a measurement from back of seat to top of canopy of 23″. With the addition of the Cocoon Adapter (sold separately), bassinet or car seat adapters, the Quad can be used from birth. The seat as shown in the photo below is recommended for 6+months.
The seat features a padded, adjustable, 5-point harness to keep your little one safely in the seat, an adjustable calf rest to keep them comfy and a swing-away, removable baby bumper bar because parents (and babies!) like them. I’m a big fan of the one-handed, deep recline that doesn’t involve any straps. The seat is also reversible so that baby can parent face or face out at the world.
The Quad doesn’t feature a parent or baby tray but it does have a handy bottle holder on the side of the handle and a roomy basket underneath the seat. The basket is not the largest basket we’ve ever seen but it is easiest to access from the sides and will accommodate a medium to semi-large diaper bag.
Inglesina rarely disappoints us with their canopies. They know the bigger the better in the canopy department. The canopy is large and ultimately has four panels that fold down in front of your child when you unzip it to expand it all the way. It also has a peek-a-boo window on top to peek in on your child.
The handle is adjustable for our taller and shorter parents adjusting from 31″ to 41″.
The Quad will charge through all kinds of terrain without worrying about a flat with its shock absorbers on all four wheels and large EVA wheels that feature ball bearings. The rear wheels are 11″ and the front swivel wheels are 7″. The front wheels have the ability to lock straight for all-terrain use. A one-step brake in the back is easy for locking the stroller into place.
The maneuverability on the Quad is amazing with the one-piece handle for a one-handed push and the shock absorbers that give your baby a smooth ride.
While you do have to remove the seat to fold the Quad, it’s all very easy to do. Remove the seat and you can fold and unfold the chassis easily with one hand. It has a standing fold and is easy to transport with the entire package weighing only 26 1/2 lbs. Remember you will be lifting the pieces separately, so weight will not be an issue with this stroller.
The Inglesina Quad comes with a rain cover, cup holder and matching foot muff but there are other accessories that are sold separately. The Quad bassinet turns the stroller chassis into a pram with an extra large, luxury bassinet. You can also turn the Quad into a travel system with car seat adapters (sold separately) for the Maxi Cosi (Mico AP & Prezi), Cybex (Aton & Aton 2) and the Nuna Pipa.
The Quad comes in five colors (Patagonia – Purple, Outback – Maroon, Forest – Green, Arctic – Blue, and Vulcano – Black) and retails for $599. Overall, the Inglesina Quad is a terrific addition to the Inglesina family of strollers. It has the extra-large canopy that we adore, a roomy, reversible seat, adjustable handle, included footmuff and cup holder and wheels that can tackle all types of terrain.
