Fun Places To Take The Kids In San Francisco

Today I’ve gathered together 25 fun places to take the kids in the San Francisco Bay Area. San Francisco is GORGEOUS and I think everyone needs to visit at least once in their life. If you’ve never been before then you’re in luck because today I’ve got you and the kids covered!

San Francisco with Kids

Golden Gate Bridge

This obviously has to be my first pick. Don’t forget to take your picture in front of it!

Adventure Playground

Located on University Avenue, this place is full of hideouts, boats, and the most exciting zipline that kids can ride down.

Exploratorium

This place is free the first Wednesday of every month and boasts a giant two level warehouse where kids can learn about science.

The Ferry Building

Built in 1898 and totally renovated, this place has restaurants, a farmers market, and specialty food stores.

Angel Island

The largest natural island in the bay, it has bike rentals, hiking trails, lovely beaches, and tram tours.

Ghiradelli Square

You can NOT travel to San Francisco without stopping in Ghiradelli Square to get the best ice cream sundae of your life. Make sure to buy some chocolate to take home with you, too!

Crissy Field

A former air-field, turned park and the perfect place to have a picnic and play.

San Francisco Zoo

If your kids are animal lovers then you can’t miss the zoo.

Take in a game

See the Giants while you’re in town.

At Yerba Buena Gardens, this museum provides fun hands-on art activities for children of all ages.

If you’re a Disney lover, then you can’t miss this. This museum is all about Walt and his life. My family recently made a trip here and they couldn’t stop raving about it.

San Francisco is famous for cable cars so why not go check them out up close and personal?

I always have to come here whenever I’m in town. This Pier is gorgeous and packed full of great shopping, food, and fun!

Make sure you stick by the kids, this mirror maze may be difficult even for adults.

Regular price is pretty steep at $25 but this aquarium offers free days and is located in beautiful Golden Gate Park.

A great place to check out if you’re looking for an educational day of fun and interested in San Francisco’s history.

Marina District

Take your kids here to see boats galore. You’ll also be able to do shopping and dining here.

Downtown

Simply head to Downtown San Francisco to be in the heart of the city. Take in the sights, listen to street performers, sample delicious food, shop, and take pictures of all the beautiful trollies and buildings. This is where it’s at!
