Did you ever think folding a stroller was just too much work? Some are too complicated. Others require 16 steps. While some strollers require a trick thumb and a slight bump with your hip so it seems. The new-ish baby brand, Larktale, heard your cries and designed the Larktale Autofold stroller. Just as the name implies, this lightweight buggy folds itself with just the flick of the handlebar by the user.

Squeeze the button, flick the handle bar forward and the stroller does the rest of the work. And if that wasn’t enough, it ends in a standing fold. You are pretty much going to look like a ninja folding the stroller in the grocery parking lot with this one. Let’s get to the details.

SEAT

The seat on the Larktale Autofold is roomy and accommodates from birth to 55 lbs. It measures 14″ wide, with an 18″ seatback and a measurement of 26″ from back of seat to canopy. The seat sports a padded, adjustable, 5-point harness and removable baby headrest.

The seat buckle is easy to do BUT it does break into four pieces that you will have to puzzle piece back together when putting the child back in the seat. (It’s not our favorite feature but we’ve seen this on many strollers before so it’s not new.)

The seat reclines nearly flat with one hand which makes it newborn-ready. The back of the seat has fabric that unzips and lifts up to reveal a full ventilation window to allow air to circulate through the seat.

There is a swing-away, removable baby bumper bar and an adjustable leg rest for your little rider. One of our favorite features of the seat is the INCLUDED baby snack tray.

CANOPY

Full coverage matters with strollers and the Autofold doesn’t disappoint. The canopy is very large with three panels and expands when you unzip the hidden 4th panel that folds all the way down to the baby bumper bar. The canopy features a mesh peek-a-boo window with a magnetic closure which is great for keeping an eye on your little rider.

HANDLEBAR

While the handlebar isn’t adjustable on this Larktale stroller, it is taller at 42″ from ground to handle. That makes it great for taller and shorter parents alike.

STORAGE

Every good buggy needs good storage. The Larktale Autofold has a large mesh pocket on the back of the seat to carry essentials that you need to get to quickly and a big basket under the seat. The basket can easily hold a medium to large diaper bag and is easy to access from the back. We don’t want to forget the great INCLUDED cup holder (bottle holder) that snaps onto the side of the handlebar.

WHEELS

The stroller rolls on hard rubber wheels with 6″ wheels in the back and 5 1/2″ wheels in the front. The front wheels are 360 degree swivel wheels that have the ability to lock straight for different terrain.

There is a one-step brake that locks the stroller into place and is very flip flop friendly.

STROLLER FOLD

The big ta-da of the Larktale Autofold is the fold (hence the name!). That’s why you are looking at this stroller, amIright? We can’t really call it a “no handed fold” since you do have to flick the handlebar but it’s as close as you can get. By squeezing the button on the handlebar (that unlocks it) and flicking the handlebar forward, the stroller will finish the job by folding itself. Yep, just a flick of the wrist and it folds down.

NOTE: We do want you to watch your feet if you are wearing flip-flops or sandals as the stroller does come down quickly though.

The stroller ends in a standing folds and locks into place with the auto lock. Since the stroller doesn’t have a motor and folds itself with kinetic energy, the stroller weighs in at only 19.8 lbs. Sure, it’s heavier than some super lightweight strollers but this is a full-size stroller that accommodates a newborn and folds itself so don’t come at us about it.

STROLLER UNFOLD

To unfold the stroller, you just unlock the auto lock, grab the handle and give the stroller a shake open until it locks into place.
