The crockpot is basically the best invention in the whole world. Short on time but still want to make something delicious for dinner? Use your Crockpot. Have a really busy day planned but still want to make something home made? Use your crock pot. Let’s make stew today.
The crockpot is the perfect solution for a busy mom who still wants to serve her family high quality healthy meals. This is a VERY easy recipe that I made up. It can very easily be modified to your liking. If you’ve got a favorite vegetable I left out, throw it in.
Not a fan of something I put in my sausage stew? Use something else! This is my version of crockpot sausage stew and I think you’re really going to like it!
Stew Ingredients-
- 1 package of sausage (mine had about 10 sausage links in it)
- 1 package of carrots (diced)
- 1 package of celery (diced)
- 10 potatoes (diced)
- 1 box of beef broth or broth of your choice
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions-
Dice your carrots, celery, potatoes and dump into your crockpot.
Slice all your sausage links. This can get pretty messy because sometimes sausage isn’t the easiest thing to slice. Don’t worry, it doesn’t have to be perfect at all.
Add your sliced sausage to the crock pot and mix everything.
Add your box of broth.
Cover your crock pot with the lid and turn the crock pot to HIGH. Let everything sit ALL DAY (6-8 hours). I usually put everything in first thing in the morning and the stew is ready to serve by the time my husband comes home around 5pm. I check on my stew every few hours if I get a chance and give it a good stir.
By the time dinner time rolls around, your sausage stew will be perfect and ready to serve!

Do you think I could use jicama in place of the potatoes and cabbage in place of the carrots to make this more low carb?????
