We just returned from a whirlwind trip to Universal Orlando this past weekend. We were lucky enough to take the three kids (ages 3 1/2, 6 and 8) to check out the biggest Mardi Gras celebration outside of New Orleans. You might be thinking – “Mardi Gras is over” – but not at Universal Orlando, my friends! This Mardi Gras celebration runs now through April 20 with yummy cajun food, a fantastic parade that the kids couldn’t get enough of and live concerts every Saturday with top bands including Pit Bull on April 13.

Not only did we get to check out this kid-friendly Mardi Gras (no flashing to get beads at this one!) but we had the opportunity to experience all the kid-friendly rides and attractions at the two Universal Theme Parks. This week we will be highlighting different aspects of our trip including a video sneak peek of the Loews Pacific Royal Resort with a special guest host and a special video from a child’s point of view of what Universal Orlando has to offer.
Since Spring Break is right around the corner (some may have already started!) and many families may be headed to Orlando or at least thinking about it for the summer, we first wanted to share 12 tips for visiting Universal Orlando with young kids. And just in case you are wondering if Universal Orlando is good for the younger crowd, we would definitely say yes!! So, check out our 12 Tips Video below and stay tuned later in the week for additional Universal Orlando posts and videos!
For more information on Universal Orlando, check out their website.
*Disclosure: Universal Orlando picked up the travel costs for our visit this weekend. Regardless of that, all our thoughts, opinions, statements, videos and photos are our own!

Thanks for the review. Going to Orlando in November with the kids. They will be 7 and 2 when we travel. My son who will be 7 wants to ride the rides, but he always backs out at the last minute. Trying to contemplate whether buying the double park pass will be worth our money. Also going to check out Disney? Did you all go there as well?

Great tips! Filing them away for, hopefully, a future visit with my 5 and 2 year olds. What a great opportunity for you and your family! If you ever need a guest editor for a travel opportunity, I'm available. :)
