Recently, there was a post floating around about lathering your child in toxic “death creams.” You probably know which one I’m talking about. Basically, this mom was tired of feeling like she was never doing enough, and the trigger was that the sunscreen she had just purchased for her kids was first on a list of “worst sunscreens.”
We’ve all been there. We’re all trying our best.
In my humble mind, any sunscreen is better than no sunscreen. If you’re going to lather your kids up in sunscreen that’s at the top of the list for “worst sunscreens,” well, you’re still doing better than not putting any sunscreen on at all.
That said, there are good baby-friendly sunscreen options out there. Be sure to check with your pediatrician when first putting sunscreen on your baby – most recommend they don’t wear any until 6 months, but I’ve heard differently from different doctors.
Some sunscreens are crazy expensive – like out of our budget for something we go through a lot of – but sometimes those are a necessity. I’ve tried to round up a mix here. I didn’t include prices though, as they fluctuate a lot on Amazon. Let us know your favorites in the comments!
