For the longest time I steered clear of any kind of peppers. Too spicy! But then a friend introduced me to these homemade bacon jalapeño poppers and all of a sudden I’m a jalapeño popper fanatic! So, so good!
These poppers are now a staple at so many of our meals. They are the perfect snack while grilling up steaks, a great side to a taco salad, and a perfect alternative to bread or chips on the side of chili.
With just three ingredients, bacon jalapeño poppers are a sweet, simple, and yes, somewhat spicy recipe that you’ll want to try out ASAP!
Bacon Jalapeño Popper Ingredients
- 12 slices of bacon
- 6 jalapeño peppers
- 3/4 cup cream cheese
Directions
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Cut the tops off each jalapeño and slice lengthwise. Carefully scoop out the seeds. It’s best to wear gloves, but if you don’t, be sure to WASH YOUR HANDS THOROUGHLY when you’re done with this step. You don’t want to accidentally touch your face or scoop up the baby with residual jalapeño on your hands.
Fill each jalapeño with cream cheese and wrap one piece of bacon around the cream cheese filled jalapeño. Place in a cast iron pan or baking sheet.
Bake for 20-25 minutes or until bacon is cooked to your liking. Remove each popper from the pan and place on a paper towel so they aren’t dripping in bacon fat. Allow to cool for 5 minutes and then pop those bacon jalapeño poppers in your mouth! YUM!
