Chocolate White Chip Oreo Brownie Bars

Sharing is caring!

It’s time for a Chocolate White Chip Oreo Brownie Bar! Not only is this not a recipe to keep to myself but it also makes a great dessert for the upcoming Memorial Day or Father’s Day.

When I saw that the Summer Oreos were back on the shelves again, I knew I had to incorporate them into some type of recipe. Since the blue filling is so vibrant, I decide they would be perfect in a Memorial Day/4th of July/Summer recipe.

All I had to do was figure out what kind of recipe and how to add a little red and white into it to really make it patriotic. Well, not to pat myself on the back but I think I did a fabulous job with these Chocolate White Chip Oreo Brownie Bars. They aren’t as good as my Ultimate Pretzel Crusted Peanut Butter Cookie Candy Brownie Bars but they are definitely a close 2nd and they don’t have any peanut butter in them (which is important for the nut allergy people out there!).

You start with a chocolate white chip cookie base. Here is where I added my “white” besides the vanilla ice cream I added at the end. Cover that cookie base with rows of delicious Summer Oreos. Pour brownie batter over the Oreos and pop these bad boys in the oven. And oh, are they bad. Very, very bad. So bad that they are good! By the way, we add the “red” for 4th of July at the very end with red icing.

If you have family members who like sweets, you should definitely surprise them with a batch of these this weekend.

Oreo Brownie Bar

Oreo Brownie Bar Ingredients:

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

2/3 cup baking cocoa

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened

3/4 cup granulated sugar

2/3 cup packed brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 large eggs

2 cups (12-oz. pkg.) Nestle Toll House Premier White Morsels

1 package Summer Oreos (the blue ones!)

Brownie Mix (13×9 family size box + all the ingredients the mix calls for)

Preparation:

*NOTE: I made a half a batch of these brownies this time for photographing but everything I am listing is for a 13×9 pan. (That’s why you will see a square pan with less Oreos in the photos!)

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 13×9 baking pan or line with aluminum foil.

2. Cookie Layer. This is your typical Nestle White Chip Chocolate Cookies. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in 2 cups of white morsels. Spread the cookie dough all over the bottom of the prepared pan.

4. Whip up your brownie mix and pour evenly over the Oreos.

5. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

6. Cool for 10 minutes or as long as you can stop yourself from digging in.

7. To complete the patriotic red, white and blue theme, drizzle the Cake Mate Glitter Icing in Shimmering Red (found in your grocer’s baking aisle!) all over the top and on the serving plate. No need to be strategic about the icing placement because it will just look like fireworks exploding if you put it all over. (At least that is what my husband says it looks like! Love him!) 🙂

8. These babies do great topped with hot fudge and vanilla ice cream!

Notes

You can usually find the Oreos with blue center in early summer. If you can’t find the blue Oreos, any Oreos will work perfectly fine in this recipe.
