It’s the time of the year to bake ALL THE COOKIES. Whether you are going to a Cookie Exchange Party, hosting your family, baking for the kids or just want to holiday bake, these Kentucky Butter Cake Cookies are the answer to your cookie baking prayers.
These delicious, buttery-flavored cookies bring a Kentucky butter cake to life in cookie form.
Yes, you may have seen Kentucky Butter Cake Cookies at your local Crumbl bakery a while back (if you are lucky enough to have one nearby) and this is another copycat recipe that is just as good if not better. Plus, we’ve made them into miniature size so they are more manageable than the giant Crumbl version.
MINI CRUMBL IS THE PERFECT SIZE
Yes, Crumbl is known for their giant cookies. They are so big, in fact, they list them as 3.5-6.5 servings in their stores. What kind of monster eats 1/6 of a cookie?? I like my own perfectly round, un-touched cookie so mini cookies are right up my alley.
That’s right, we are so in love with our MINI Crumbl size that we made this week’s Kentucky Butter Cake Cookies mini as well!

HOW TO MAKE KENTUCKY BUTTER CAKE COOKIES
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Use parchment paper or a silpat mat to line a baking sheet.
2. Cream the butter, sugar, and brown sugar in a stand mixer until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes). Scrape the sides of the bowl to make sure all ingredients are blended.
3. Add in the egg and vanilla and beat until combined.
4. Add in flour, salt and baking powder. Mix until all combined.
5. Scoop out about 1 tablespoon (or use a 1 tbsp cookie scoop) and roll into a dough ball. Repeat with all the dough to make about 24 cookies. Put 12 cookie balls to a tray. Slightly flatten each cookie dough ball.
6. Bake for 10 minutes or until cookie is set and the bottom is just starting to brown.
PREPARE THE BUTTER SAUCE
1. Melt the butter, powdered sugar, water and vanilla extract in a small saucepan over medium low heat. Stir the mixture until the sugar is dissolved but DO NOT boil the mixture.
2. Let the mixture sit for 5-10 minutes to thicken up a bit.
3. Using a spoon or a pastry brush, brush each cookie with the warm butter sauce and then sprinkle with powdered sugar.
4. Enjoy these cookies WARM!

We are fans of almond flavoring in our sugar cookies. We frequently substitute 1/2 or more of the vanilla in a baking recipe with almond flavoring.
Do you think this would work in these cookies?
