Raising the Bar: Unveiling the Mockingbird High Chair – A Comprehensive Review

Sharing is caring!

Embarking on the journey of parenthood often involves navigating a world of baby gear, and finding the perfect high chair can be a game-changer for both parents and little ones. Today, we are jumping into the realms of functionality, design, and practicality with the Mockingbird High Chair. As parents, we understand the importance of a reliable and versatile high chair in the chaotic yet joyous world of mealtimes. From its sleek design to innovative features (the silicone-coated, 5-point harness is our favorite!), let’s explore how this high chair stands out in the ever-expanding landscape of baby feeding solutions.

WHAT FEATURES TO LOOK FOR IN A HIGH CHAIR

Picking a great high chair is easy to do if you know what you are looking for. I always tell parents that my top three high chair features are:

  1. Easy to clean
  2. An easy-to-remove tray (and a snap-on tray liner is always a great bonus!)
  3. If it will grow with your child without sacrificing quality, you have found gold.

Also, if you are a stylish mom and care about what your kitchen looks like and you don’t necessarily want a big, garish high chair sticking out like a sore thumb, the right look is important.

Meet the Mockingbird High Chair

The Mockingbird High Chair is a modern chair that is not only super easy to clean and looks great in your kitchen, but will grow with your child. The Mockingbird is suitable for babies 6 months up to 150 lbs. Yep, you read that right – 150 lbs! This isn’t a chair you are going to banish to the garage or basement after your little one turns 2 (or 3) because this will be used for years to come as your child grows.

The legs of the Mockingbird are made of solid beechwood, and as your child grows, the seat and tray can be adjusted to create the perfect, ergonomic seat for your little one. The footrest has four positions that can easily be changed by loosing two knobs under the seat, and the tray slides out with two hands with three position options.

Mode 1: High Chair Mode

The Mockingbird High Chair starts out as a conventional high chair boasting a visually pleasing aesthetic. Let’s be honest, parents are the one who are looking at the high chair, not the baby. Get a high chair that YOU like for YOUR kitchen.

The seat is super easy to clean with no hidden crevices for food to hide. It’s easy to wipe down and the 5-point harness is the easiest we’ve EVER cleaned. The silicone-coated, 5-point harness is so easy to wipe down AND can easily be removed to pop in the dishwasher. Yes, no food-harboring nylon straps on this baby! And if that isn’t enough, there are two, little, seat-back strap holders that hold the harness out of the way when you are putting the baby in the seat or cleaning the seat.

Equipped with a spacious tray featuring a dishwasher-safe insert for effortless cleaning, the chair’s tray is adjustable to three positions. I appreciate that the closest setting allows for a snug fit next to the baby’s belly, preventing food from simply falling into their lap. We also love the dishwasher-safe, tray liner that has a lip that prevents food from just rolling right off the tray. The tray liner is also easy to remove for parents by lifting it from the side but tricky for baby to figure out.

Mode 2: Child Chair

Remember when we said that the Mockingbird High Chair grows with your child? It’s true. With no tools required, the high chair seat lifts off the base easily to transform the chair into a child chair with a weight capacity of up to 150 lbs. What served as the baby footrest in high chair mode, now serves as the child chair seat and has four height positions. This transforming high chair allows this to be a long-lasting baby purchase that you can feel good about.
